  1. Congrats! Sounds like you are doing very well!
  2. Yes! Congrats and welcome! I know you will find this forum to be very informative and helpful. We have all been in your shoes (except for the middle east part). The support here on this forum has helped me tremendously. I imagine any question you have has already been asked here, but feel free to ask away. That is what it is for. Preparing mentally is probably the best thing to do. Getting my arms around the fact that I will not longer eat the way I used to was a good thing for me to realize and prepare for. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you and please keep us updated! Good luck!! Vance
  3. I wanted to let you know we made this last Sunday! YUMMY!!!! Thanks so much for sharing!! We are keeping this one.
  4. I got taller, but not there...and not there...but THERE! :jaw:
  5. Hi Jen, and welcome! This forum has been a wonderful place for people to be encouraged, ask questions, and gain a wealth of information from people who have like minded goals and interests. I find myself learning new things every day from the kind people here. I'm glad you introduced yourself and I look forward to hearing about your experiences as you start this journey. Keep us updated and let us know when you get your date! :welcome:
  6. Congrats Mater! Welcome!! Hope everything is going well for you!
  7. Congrats on your sleeve!! That is awesome and good to hear you are doing great!! :clap2:
  8. Awesome!! I love a fellow Jayhawker!! They looked pretty good tonight!!! ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!! My wife and I moved to Dallas 16 years ago to help start a music ministry for a church here. We like it here, but it sure isn't Lawrence. We hope to be able to move back someday, but with 3 kids being born here and one already in HS, it's not going to happen any time soon. I love my sleeve! It is one of the best decisions I have ever made! I love seeing how it is changing my life for the better. My high blood pressure and sleep apnia is gone! I feel so much better! It's amazing! You are going to do great! Be sure to stay in touch! I would love to watch your progress! ROOOOOCK CHAAAAAAALK, JAAAAAAYYYYYHAAAAAAAAAWK, KAAAAAAAAAYYYY UUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuu!!!!!! :sign45:
  9. Congrats!! WOOOOHOOOO!!! :clap2: Now, please explain your name...JayhawkJess33. Are you a Jayhawk fan? I was born and raised in Lawrence, KS and went to KU. I might just be the biggest Jayhawk fan in the country!
  10. Wow!! So many on the 13th!! Congrats to all of you! You will all do great! Like Diva said, everything you are feeling is completely normal. You'll read it and hear it a million times on here and from your doctors, but make sure you get your Protein and Water in and you will do just fine. Good luck to you all and CONGRATS!! WOOOHOOOO!!!! :clap2:
  11. I was told not to drink 30 minutes before eating and wait 30 minutes after. You'll be okay. Sorry you aren't feeling well.
  12. Hello and welcome!! Congrats on getting your surgery date! I'm excited for you!! I just had my 6 week post-op check up appointment where I was cleared to eat what I wanted. Of course, they told me to eat my Protein first, but I found myself wanting to stop by McDonalds after the appointment. Thing is, I know that I have worked hard to get to this point and have done very well so i didn't. Funny thing, the craving went away with my decision not to go there. Weird...that hasn't happened before, but very exciting! As far as sodas go, I haven't tried them yet, but I do plan to at some point...probably after 3 months. Not a lot, but I do crave a Coke Zero occasionally. Regarding work, I came back after about 10 or 11 days. I have a desk job so it wasn't bad although I was pretty tired for the first few days. Pain...it wasn't too bad at all. They give you some good meds and you should be pretty comfortable. Be sure to keep us informed and again, CONGRATS!!! :clap2:
  13. I can't wait until my wife carries me over the threshold...wait...nevermind. Congrats!!
  14. Yeah, what Moon said. I have heard that some people actually gain a few pounds during the first week. Not sure if that is due to the swelling or what. You'll be losing weight real fast so don't worry. Good luck!!
  15. Sorry you are going through this. No one wants to go back to the hospital so soon. Praying for you that this will pass.
  16. That is AWESOME!!!! Congrats!!!!!
  17. Yay!! YES!!! Today IS your day! Congrats and best of luck! Praying for you! :woot:
  18. Hmmmm...I was pretty much back to normal at day 13. Have you been throwing up a lot? I hate to throw the "L" word at you, but I am assuming they did a leak test on you? Have you gone back for your post-op appointment yet? The pain should pretty much be gone by now, maybe just tender, but we are all different. Keep us informed of what the Dr. says. Best of luck!
  19. You're doing great! Congrats!!
  20. I love my sleeve too! I am down 24 lbs since my sleeve on 12/31/2011 and 58.5 since I started my pre-op diet.
  21. Congrats! I am excited for you! 15 weeks is long time to wait and I bet you are relieved!! Wooohoooo!! :clap2:
  22. Congrats!! That is wonderful! Be sure to keep us informed how it is going!! :hurray:
