Itchy, Itchy, Itchy
My whole stomach is itchy and developing a rash, not just around the incisions. Not sure what it is. I guess I will have to check with my Dr. I am 3 weeks out and I am wondering if it my vitamins or my Prilosec. Hmmm....

3 Weeks Post Op & The Roller Coaster!
Yeah, I have read about the dreaded 3rd week stall. Mine happened in week two. I didn't lose 1 lb and I was drinking all my water and getting all of my protein in. I think our bodies are just saying "hey, what are you doing to me?" Hang in there. Sounds like you are doing great and staying positive. It will pass, I am sure it!

Post Op Dr Visits
I was wondering if when you go into your Dr's office for post op visits, do they ever take your blood to test you for vitamin or other deficiencies?

Fried Foods And Hot Wings Forbidden Forever?
We used to go to Buffalo Wild Wings (pre-op) once a week. I loved that place! I imagine the chicken is good, but the sauces may not be so good. I'll have to check the nutrition facts. Can't wait though!!

I Disagree With You But...
Although my father wasn't opposed, my reason for having the sleeve was so I could be around to raise my 3 children. If he was opposed before, he wouldn't have been after I said that. Congrats on your decision! It was the best decision I have ever made.

Dr. David Kim - Tx?
I used Dr. Kim. He was very nice. Like the others, he didn't come see me after the surgery but oh well. His office staff is great! They made the entire process so easy, and they even helped me set up most of out of office appointments (psych/heart/etc). They even set me up with a sleep study (insurance paid for it) to find out that I had sleep apnia. Then, after getting all of my weight history from my primary physician, they submitted my case to the insurance company in which case I was approved fairly quick. I would highly recommend Dr Kim. They will make it simple for you!

This Is My Journey
Glad to see you survived. I have a 2007 Ultra Classic that I totalled last July. I faired okay but my wife broke her tailbone. She's okay now but could barely walk for a month. I can only imagine all you have gone though. Hope the sleeve goes well for you and keep us updated on things are going.

Happy To Be Here
Hi Bryan! Welcome and congrats! I am a little over two weeks post op and I haven't had any complications besides the nausea for the first 18 hours or so. Wasn't too bad. Everyone is different, but I feel most people don't have many complications. Best of luck and let us know how it goes!

Stalls Are No Big Deal So Why Complain?
Hmmmm....Interesting. Do you have an issue with high blood pressure too, because you might want to get that checked. This is a forum where people go to read and listened to like minded people and see and hear their experiences. I wouldn't go to a post menopausal forum to find out about why I am losing my hair. I am new to the forum as I was just sleeved on 12/31. But it was helpful to me to read that others have had these stalls. I stalled my second week and didn't lose one pound even though I was eating 500 calories a day. My Dr didn't warn me about the stalls. If I hadn't read it on these forums, I would have never known and thought "what in the world am I doing wrong?" or "did I make a wrong decision in doing this?"... It is comforting to see others who have gone through these stalls and have picked back up on the other side. Because someone said that they were stalling helped me though my stall. So I agree with the others...If you don't like to read about stalls, dont. Don't complain about the "complainers". It is hypacritical and isn't what these forums are for.

A New Journey...a First Step!
Congrats, Lyra, on making that big decision. It is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. It was for me. I am 42 yrs old andI have 3 boys ages 14, 13, and 10. I had to do something to get healthy and I tried just about everything. I have some years left and I want to actually be able to play with my boys, take them to Six Flags and be able to ride rides with them, all the good things a father should do with their children, yet I could never do before. I was sleeved on Dec 31st. I weighed in at 330 prior to my pre-op diet. 17 days post-op, I am down to 279.5. I feel better, I am already more active. I am a bit tired through out the day, but that is just because I am still on phase 2 of my liquid diets and am not getting in a whole lot of calories. My goal is to be able to take them to Six Flags this summer. They are excited about it...and so am I! You can do this! If I can, so can you...and you will do great! Keep us posted and best of luck!! Sleeve Friendly Vitamins And Tasty Proteins
I too drink the EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control shake. I have only tried Chocolate Fudge and Strawberry Cream. Very tasty and with 17 grams of protein, 0 sugars and only 100 calories, it's pretty nice. Like FlyGirl said, no bad after taste. My local Kroger has them. They are 11 ounces and come in packs of 4. I can by two packs for $10. I tried some of the powders and just couldn't handle more than one of those a day. I'm glad to see that others are using this.

1 Week Post-Op Is Not What I Expected!
So sorry for your loss. It is diffucult any time you lose a parent, but I can only imagine during this time in your life. We are praying for you. I hope you have a support group such as a church that you can reach out to locally. This is a time to be near family and friends so that they can help you. God bless you, dear.

Sleeved On Tuesday 1/10/12
Yes, I felt that tenderness in my lower abdomen, but as you said, only when I got up or sat down. I think everyone has that. I don't think it is anything to be concerned about, but it is good that you called. Always better to be safe than sorry. Good luck on your new journey! I'm sure we will continue to cross paths as we go through this together!
