I was wondering if when you go into your Dr's office for post op visits, do they ever take your blood to test you for vitamin or other deficiencies?

My surgeon doesn't seem to do any testing- he sends me to my PCP for all of the bloodwork that I need to have done.

My surgeon will do bloodwork to check my levels but he doesn't do it until a year after surgery (unless there's suspicion of any deficiencies or other issues).

I had blood test 10 days after and I will have more every 3 months for the 1st year.

Thanks all! I will check with my Dr when I go back to see him in a couple of weeks. I would like to have my labs done and to me it seems crucial to know things are going internally.

My doc normally has our PCP do the bloodwork and fax him a copy, which I need to now before my 9 month/goal visit with them. (At least it's a fairly routine blood draw, unlike my wife's annual post-DS draw that takes around 17 vials!)
