Fell Of The Wagon
I do not think that you current dr. can by law withhold your medical records for any reason. You have the right to them. I have fallen off the wagon a bit in a rutt and struggling with this. I have gained back 3 pounds recently because I have no will power. My band is tight but I keep pushing it. I feel like Im giving up on myself...not a good feeling. good luck. sometimes we have to do things that are not comfortable but i assure you that stepping outside your comfort zone might just relieve the stress you feel right now!

No Resriction...i Need Support Asap!
Had my second fill today and it went much better than the first. Was still difficult to find the port. Dr. says that it will be easier to find the port once i lose more weight. He told me that my port had regresses quite a bit then he said only 2% of people have that happen...I am that 2%. ugh. I did ask him if i was going to need to have any surgery in order to bring it closer to the surface, he said no, so thats a good thing! Well clear liquids for 24 hours and then full liquids for 24 hours. Does anyone know why they have you do full liquids after a fill??? Thanks!

Day 4 Liquid Diet
That's too bad that he wants you to tell. It is really your place to say anything. I know I told my bosses at work, but not the woman i work closest with. My bosses were very nice to keep it to themselves, not always the case. My boss had it done too but he had told everyone. I just didnt want to tell my closest co workers because we eat lunch together. I also don't want peole "watching" to see how I am doing. It's a personal journey and a personal choice. Maybe he see's it as a positive thing and wants to share the news. I agree with you though and I don't think anyone could understand unless you've done it. Has been great I would do it all over again in a minute, no regrets!

No Resriction...i Need Support Asap!
I am in not reaching the green zone yet and feel like I am losing focus. Had surgery in Jan. 2012 and have now gained back 3lbs. I work hard for each pound so that's frustrating. I am going to try and find a support group around here to attend...need the support of my own kind....Bandster! I have only had 1 fill nad Thursday will have another! God willing they will find my port. dr had a really hard time finding it last time. I only have 1 cc and it is not helping. I need this "tool" to start helping me! Pleeease and suggestion or support are appreciated. What does a person do when they are at this point???

Buddies Apply Here!
I would love to have a buddy in this venture. I started at 262 last May and am now 214 and stuck. So a little exchange of support might help us both! I have only had one fill. The dr. had a hard time finding the port and he cancelled my appointment for emergencies he had. Frustrated with that, but I am going in one Weds for my 2nd fill. I have 2cc right now and not feeling much restriction. Not in the green zone...can't wait for that! Have a good day! Cathy

Extra Skin And Depression
You have the love and support from your significant other...that is priceless! I plain don't stand in front of a mirror naked...not a good idea...and totally unnecessary. Just don't do it! Listen to him. I know that I would much rather have some extra skin than I would be dead at a young age! I did this for my health, I did not want to get diabetes or any other obesity related medical issue! You are doing great and for god sake stay away from the mirror naked! lol Once again a lucky girl to have the support of him!!!

To Tell Or Not To Tell That You've Had Lapband Surgery Or Wls(Weight Loss Surgery)
I have chosen who I want to tell. I preferred not to tell many people just because I don't want to be "watched" to see how I am doing. So far I have found that the people i did tell have respected my wish not to tell others. I know the weight loss will show, but I know someone else who had it done and people are constantly asking him. I don't want that kind of attention. I just thought there would be too much pressure for me to lose weight for other people and not my own personal journey. I have found I do better when I am not under pressure. I am sure that plenty of people want the support, but I was afraid of failing or having to prove myself. I work at a school and we work closely together. I see everyone everyday. Good luck with your journey!

I Get My First Fill Tomorrow And I'm Scared!!
Hi! I am getting my first fill tomorrow too! I have not had a fill and my surgery was jan 19th. So I have been doing this all will power. There have been a lot of things I had been dealing with and for one reason or another it has been put off til now. My Dad died and that took a lot of energy to care for him, I really didnt have a minute to think about myself. So instead of setting myself up for failure, I put it off til now. I am not really nervous about pain, I am more worried about what kind of changes will happen once the band is tightened. Do you know how much fluid they are going to put in your band??? Good luck tomorrow! Let me know how you did!

Happy Mother's Day!
One year ago today I decided that if I wanted to get to see My Gramma years and meet any Grandchildren I am destined to have that I needed to lose weight or I wasn't going to get to meet them when ever it is they are born. There is so much I want to do with them and I have so much to teach them. I knew I had to make a conscience choice to take control of my weight/ health. So I started out on my weight loss journey. I have lost 46 pounds in a year. I had lap band surgery January 19th and I lost 29 pounds since then. The rest was pre-op. I am confident that this has gone the best way possible. My weight loss has been constant, but gradual. I think it is best to lose gradual. I am happy and looking forward to a great year! Happy Mother's day to all!!!

Ups And Downs Are Inspiring
I know I can and I will get there! All I have to do is remind myself that I don't want any of the health issues. I am pretty independent and want to stay that way. Good luck and let me know when you get there! It will be soon!

Ups And Downs Are Inspiring
I have been going up and down a few pounds. It is like mental torture. I did drop 8pounds in 7 days but the reason was I have pneumonia, so that doesn't count. Now it is TOM and the water weights here! Well at least I got to see that number and boy it felt great. It has inspired me to dig in, because although I saw the number because I was sick, I now know that it's there....really....strange when you step on the scale and see a number you haven't seen in 15 years! Keep trudging along until I get there. Can't wait til ONEderland!!! There is going be a party!

Settling In...

You are an inspiration! Thanks for sharing! We just need to keep our heads up and our feet in motion and we can do it!!! Best wishes!

That is sooooo awesome! You are an inspiration! Right now my goal is to see my weight in the 100's! I have 19 pounds to go. I did find a pair of pants I really liked they were a size 16. I now wear an 18 so I tried them on just for the heck of it and I got them on without a problem the just won't quite button, but I bought them anyways! I will be in them soon! Wow feels good i started at a size 24-26. Congratulations!

Losing My Hair....could It Be Related To The Lapband?
I have not had an issue with hair loss since surgery, but I do know what it's like I had it happen with a medication I took once. It was horrifying for me. Biotin deifinitely helps...can't hurt.
