Pregnant And Searching For A Buddy!

Kinda Bummed...
I totally understand what you're going thru. The hardest part for me was finding a psychologist that would take my insurance and do everything in one visit. The one recommended by my doctors office wanted $150. Others 2-3 visits or they would simply not take my insurance. The fee was $300 for the whole thing. I called my insurance several times until I found one. If that specific dietitan is busy until November just try to look for someone else. The sooner all the pre op requirements are met the sooner you'll have your surgery. Good luck with everything!!! :-)

My Date Is Set!
The psych evaluation was the hardest part for me. I was so nervous. I've never been to a psychologist before I didn't know what would be the right answer. I also had to answer a million questions and I agree with others they are basically the same question just worded differently. I made sure I read them carefully to avoid mistakes.

Full Liquids
Also I forgot to mention you have to keep track of your fluid intake for a few days. There's a specific amount that you have to drink in an hour. I believe is 2oz every 15 minutes.

Full Liquids
I was banded almost 9 months ago. My surgeon's office said Clear Liquids for a week. Don't worry about the Protein intake for now until you are on the solid phase. Only see thru liquids like broth, tea, gatorate, diluted fruit juice, crystal light, sf Jello, sf popsicles . NO Water. You need a little bit of calories in you for strength. The best thing to do is follow your Drs. orders. Good luck to you on this journey.

Caffeine?
My surgeon's office said coffee =dehydration. They said 1 cup a day with sf ff creamer is ok. Add 1 cup of water per every 4oz coffee.

Is This Bandster Hell???
I only did liquids for 6 days and my surgeon said I could go to the next phase "mushies" . Each doctor is different.
-
Protein Shakes Months Later?
I only drink protein shakes when needed. For example if my protein intake for the day is low or if am hungry in between meals. My favorite protein shake is EAS strawberry cream its only 100 calories 3 carbs and its not thick at all. I love it !!!!

Five Fills Later, I'm At My Green Zone....i Think...
My surgeon said that the band around the stoma is like a ring if you loose weight its gonna start being a little loose around the stoma. That's when you need to go back for a fill. Just listen to your body. If you are eating 4 oz 3 x a day with 2- 2oz snacks and you are still hungry then its time for a fill. Some Drs only want the 3 small meals a day, no snacks in between. I think we are all different with very different lifestyles if a snack is something that works for you why starve yourself. Try to keep them to a max of 2oz or 200 calories.

Mushy Food Suggestions???
My surgeons office would not allow us scramble eggs. So this is what I had on my mushy phase. For Breakfast I would have: cream of wheat (farina), oatmeal, yogurt, small curd cottage cheese, lunch or dinner : mashed potato, mashed butternut squash, mashed carrots, refried Beans with dairy cream and shredded cheese Snacks: sugar free pudding, natural applesauce, etc. Good luck on this new mushy phase. It will be over before you know it.

I agree with what you are saying. When those pictures were taken I thought I look good. But now I go back and see those pics and I think how come nobody told me I needed to loose weight. Idk if it was high selfsteem but I always thought I looked good in pics. ( The ones that I took of myself I should say)
