Mushy Food Suggestions???

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks post-op for me and I can finally eat mushy food!!!! :P What I was wondering is... what did you guys eat on the mushy diet?? I know all the basics....applesauce, yogurt, pudding, creamy Soups, but what else have you tried?? I would love to have some kind of variety. Can I eat runny oatmeal or grits?? How about mashed potatoes?? Any info will help! Thanks in advance!

My surgeons office would not allow us scramble eggs. So this is what I had on my mushy phase.

For Breakfast I would have: cream of wheat (farina), oatmeal, yogurt, small curd cottage cheese,

lunch or dinner : mashed potato, mashed butternut squash, mashed carrots, refried Beans with dairy cream and shredded

cheese

Snacks: sugar free pudding, natural applesauce, etc.

Good luck on this new mushy phase. It will be over before you know it.

Just some random things my nutritionist suggested and were really good:

Ricotta cheese and pizza sauce

pureed tuna salad, no relish

Cow cheese (triangle soft cheese)

Refried Beans thinned with chicken broth

I had a few recipes that I loved.

Low Fat Refried Beans pureed with some Fat Free Sour Cream and Salsa. Sprinkle a pinch of shreded cheese on top and microwave.

Canned chicken mixed with Fat Free Vegetable Cream cheese warmed in the microwave.

I stuck to the basics, but those two were nice every now and then to make me feel like my tastebuds were getting something normal.

I just started mushies too! My favorite thing I've found thus far has been a third of a can of tuna mixed up with half an avocado with a tiny bit of low fat mayo and siracha. It tastes like sushi.

I can have ground beef/turkey, I'm fortunate to have access to wild game which is way super lean so tonight I'm gonna try and brown some ground elk throw that in the blender and top it with low fat riccotta cheese and some Pasta sauce and a tiny bit of parm throw it in the oven and call it lasagna! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
