i can only hope im in your situation someday soon too. i was just banded dec 13th,im in the mushies stage but am at bandster hell because im hungry like i was before surgery. eeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkk!!!!!!

2bsmaller- im in the exact same boat you are. i was banded dec 13th , lost 12 lbs and now my appetite has come back and im craving stuff i shouldnt be having. i dont have my 1st post op until jan 9th. hopefully my dr will give me a fill and i can start losing again. i havent gained any but havent lost anymore either. hope you know youre not alone. if this is bandster hell i dont like it one bit ! good luck !

i agree with the others, call your doc asap !! depression is nothing to mess around with, been there done that .as you know, it a'int pretty !! i was banded about the same time you were, so far no probs like yours. from what ive read on the forum and other sources depession is not a normal reaction. call your doc now ! let us know how it goes =we will help you through this !!

i have bcbs too. they approved me within 3 weeks. i had a bmi of 40, high bp, sleep apnea and had been on weight watchers for a year with a weight loss of 12 whole lbs in a year. i got approved and just got banded on dec 13th. good luck to you

i am in the mushies stage and have been good 90% of the time, and not so good 10% of the time . i can eat everthing ! and i mean EVERTHING !! can anyone tell me if ive done any damage to my band when im only a few weeks out from surgery ? holidays are hell food wise ! anyone else been through this and do you have any advice ? my 1st post op drs appt is jan 9th. ive lost 12 lbs total, 6 before and 6 afterwards , but have;nt lost anymore because my appetite has returned and no exercising except for walking until jan 9th, per drs orders. HELP !!! need advice !

great nsv, and hope you have many more soon ! i was banded dec 13th and had my second nsv yesterday. i needed a nice looking plain white t shirt, so i bought 2 size XL at penneys without even trying them on .before surgery i wore size 1x, but ive lost 12 lbs since then. and. hey, the shirts fit nicely !!!!, wow that made me feel good !!, best of luck to you !

i had mine dec 13th, it was a breeze! you'll be in and out before you know it! I just wish i had had lifesavers after surgery. i had the worst cottonmouth and it took all day with ice chips and water to wet up my mouth. hope it goes easy for you. best of luck !!

i was banded on dec 13th. i was sore at my port site until dec 22nd. it felt like a really bad pulled muscle, then slowly went away. it feels fine now.

my bro in law had it last may 15th, and his wife( my sis in law ) had it 2 weeks later on june 1st. both said that it worked out fine for them. as of christmas he has lost 110lbs, and she has lost 45 lbs. they both look great !!!

have you tried a protein drink or instant breakfast ? they are filling especially the powdered protien mix that you blend with milk. hope youre feeling ok. good luck

ive been drinking Boost, a liquid protein drink that taste like choc milk to me. it also comes in vanilla or strawberry. you;ll find it in the diabetic section of some stores or also near the cans of Slim-Fast, another yummy protein drink.

im 10 days out of surgery doing well. can anyone tell me why i occasionaly get a sharp pain in my left shoulder ? is it gas, or a reaction to something im eating ? smushies. i take tylenol and it goes away , but why i this happening ?

i had 2 relatives have the band done last june, 2011. so far he has lost 110 lbs and she has lost about 45. i read everthing i could on the band and immeditly knew it was right for me. i followed my relatives progress qver the summer and they had no problems. i didnt want my insides messed with , it had a short hospital and recovery time, and it was reversable if neccessary. i was sold !had my done dec 13th , so far ,so good.

just had mine tues dec 13th . i was in the hosp at 5;45 am and out at 11 am ! really fast !! i didnt have hardly any pain since then , i quit taking that nasty liquid pain med the 2nd day and switched to liquid tylenol. didnt need that after the 3rd day either. hope your journey is pain free and that you do well. i rested all tues weds and thurs, by fri i was so bored and felt fine, so i xmas shopping. best of luck to you, let us know how it goes.

im 53 yrs old. 5'3- was 225 lbs. been fighting a weight prob since i was 30 or so.i just got tired of not living the life i wanted. EVERYTHING revolved around my weight, and i mean EVERYTHING! i knew last spring that i would have to do something, but what ? then my hubby casually mentioned that his sis and her hubby were going to have lap band surgery around early june. I had seen the adds, so i knew what it was but had literaly never thought about it for me. they both had the surgery and did very well over the summer. i did research over the summer, and finally went to a seminar sept 7th, and the local support group sept 8th, and got the paperwork started. i had my surgery dec 13, 2011 am down 12 lbs so far ans feel and look better already. i am on my way to doing the things that i have only thought about for a longggggggggggggggg time . MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME !!!!!!

if you had a broken leg and not a weight prob would you refuse surgery or medical help because you were hoping God would heal your leg ? i think not. read through your story again and substitute "broken leg" for "weight problem" and see what you get. best of luck to you.

psych- he asked me nice questions about my life ,eating habits, family history, weight goals, things i wanted to accomplish but couldnt because of the weight, past weight loss attemps etc............nutritionist-pretty much the same thing. both were very easy to talk to. theyre just trying to make sure youre mentally stable enough and have realistic expections for weight loss. good luck!

i just had mine done dec 13th. i was in and out in 5 hours! it went so fast i hardly had time to think about it. bring lifesavers if you got them, i had horrible cottonmouth afterwards all day.but it all went smoothly , and so far so good. best of luck to you !

i had very little gas and the drugstore was out of gas x strips so i bought little gas x pills, they worked fine for me. the one thing i wish id had after surgery through the first day was Lifesavers! i had the worst cottonmouth after surgery, all day! i couldnt get ice chips down fast enough in recovery, or drink enough propel at home. it took several hours for my mouth to start producing saliva. get yourself some lifesavers!!

sorry you had such an icky day, sending hugs down your way, promise your mom you'll listen to her concerns if she'll listen to the dr at the info seminar. seems like if she was so taken with dr oz's opinion, then she should be just as interested in the drs opinion at the seminar and the monthly support groups. its your body and you have to do whats best for your body., but i think you'd both be happier with her support.
