  1. Sounds like she's drinking that haterade...Educate her and let her know that's it's not about you being skinny it's about you being healthy. If she don't want to be one of your cheerleaders then so be it, but tell her true friends are should motivate one another...
  2. It really does get easier after you've done in a few days....Hang in there, you can do this
  3. sure wish I had that problem..lol...waiting patiently for my 2nd fill on the 15th
  4. thanks to all of you for the encouragement, you guys are wonderful. It's nice to be able to come to this site and share my story with others thats been through or some that's going through the same frustrations as I am...THANK YOU THANK YOU AND THANK YOU....I will keep my head up and press on, b/c I know my day is coming....
  5. thanks for your words of encouragement, b/c I'm sooooooooooo discouraged. I sit here day after day reading all the success stories and I'm happy for each and every one of them, but then i look in the mirror and ask why can't I have that success? I go for my 2nd fill on 2/15, I hope I can get some restriction.
  6. I'm still able to swallow pills with no prob....that's prob why I'm not able to shed any lbs, no restriction what so ever....
  7. that is AWESOME!!! i was banded on 12/16 and I'm not having much luck with my weight loss...
  8. I too have BCBS-IL and I called them everyday sometimes twice a day. I was denied twice and stayed on them and the Dr's office until I was approved. I called them so much one lady told me "once the paperwork goes to the Dr and he/she approves/denies it WE WILL CALL YOU!" HAHAHA But guess what? I still continued to call and then 2 days later they (BCBS) called me to tell me i was approved and they would be faxing paperwork to my dr's office...So stay on top of it....
  9. Awesome!!!! keep up the good work....you're my motivation
  10. I took Gas X and it helped along with walking and laying on my right side. my port is on my left side but not right under my breast, closer to my belly button. Hang in there.
  11. I feel your pain, i was banded on 12/16 and only lost 11 lbs...
  12. I also had a BMI of 35 and my insurance covered it, with 2 comorbids...Good luck to you Shap, I'm sure you'll do fine, keep us posted on your recovery
  13. good luck on your recovery
  14. not good...what's your secret to all that weight loss?? i was banded on 12/16 and only lost 11 lbs, that really sucks...just got my 1st fill on 1/18 and my dr says that i shouldn't be concerned b/c i didn't have any fluid in my band so he didn't expect me to lose much. He said that i won't start losing until I've had a few fills but i read post from others that have lost alot even b 4 their first fill...I'm getting discouraged....
  15. I was banded on 12/16 and I feel the same way, my first fill was on 1/18 and I feel no restriction. I go back for my 2nd fill on 2/15 and i can't wait. I haven't lost any weight but I haven't gained any either, so that's a good thing. When i went for my 1st fill i was concerned b/c i hadn't lost any more weight so I mentioned it to my dr and he said that i was doing good. He said that he didn't expect me to lose any more b/c i had no restriction and that after a few fills i would start to have restriction and then I will see the lbs coming off..So hang in there, as you can see you're not alone. We can do this, one meal at a time....
  16. i had my first fill on 1/18 3.5 ccs and i feel nothing. I go for my 2nd fill on 2/15 and i can't wait... B-52, i love reading your post, they give me hope lol b/c i'm in bandster hell right now. I had to have my husband hide my scale b/c i was weighing myself at least 3 times a day only to find the numbers are staying the same...I sure hope i have some restriction after my 2nd fill....
  17. wow 40 lbs in a month??? that's awesome. I was banded on 12/16 and i'm discouraged b/c i'm not shedding any pounds. I lost 11 right after surgery and that's it..I did shed some inches though b/c now my clothes are getting too big. I just long for the day that i step on the scale and notice a difference... So do tell us, what are you eating and are you exercising??
  18. Girlfriend, find a new Dr with a quickness!!! That is just ridiculous!! Sounds like he's only in it for the $$ and that's sad. He's setting you up for failure by not giving you any post op instructions nor a nutritionist. This forum is a great place for you to start looking for a new Dr. I'm sure there are plenty bandsters from your area that would be more than willing to help out find one...Good luck on your journey....
  19. I had the same problem, the only thing that helped me release it was laying on my left side, and boy did that help....also walk, walk, walk...
  20. i purchased 3 bottles for post surgery and i still have 2 1/2 bottles left, oh and my surgery date was 12/16....lol...they are horrible and the after taste leaves my mouth feeling really weird....was a waste of my $$ and they aren't cheap.
