  2. Dont play with thyroid- your body needs it to function normally and it is one silly little cheap pill a day to keep you in perfect running cond,
  3. but you lost over 50!! you are doing great- im still playing with the next 3 lbs,,, maybe its my thyroid?? i take meds,,, but let see if dr will give me another fill monday nxt week n it mke a diff
  4. according to your ticker you only have 5 lbs to go? If that is correct not too much to worry about for a few days/
  5. good job!! in the first few weeks hunger is slow-- but once you start working out and get back to normal... then what should we do about calories,, be a question for my Dr. next week
  6. yea just go slow in the beginning.. she just had surgery- the body can be out of wack a bit. i had some strange pains up to a month after, so slow n easy on weights, machines etc. zumba is good and the water or pool if they have one..
  7. did thye deflate it for your other surgery?
  8. I did MOM to get past the initial -now probiotics every day n miralax every couple of days... more n more water... as far as the MOM- maybe you can do less,,, like 1 teaspooon a day until you more regular,, I did it for a like a week to get it all smoothed out. now things much better. but i was in alot of pain an discomfort
  9. I am just thinking long term here. I do not like the fact I am loosing so slow,,, maybe eating too much?? maybe 2nd fill won't make a difference? maybe it will change things dramatically?? now that I am exercising much- hungrier than before,, but yes Dr. visit the 19th,,, be 8 weeks since 1st fill,,, so I'll see what he says.
  10. It is safe to assume that if you have only had a fill or two, that you have less complications of slippage etc? I have only had one fill, and at first all was well- or say normal, month later- now I fill restriction much more than I used to, and actually had the famous burp- and the tight mornings and bread rejectiion, lump feeling in throat if eating too much, etc...,, I am wondering if I should even have a 2nd fill. I am working hard at the gym and trying to eat right food and amounts and loosing very very slowly. I am coming up on a D r appt and wondering what to do about fill # 2.
  11. WHOO WHOO look forward and never look back!!
  12. dr told me to open and drop in food of some sort, coffee whatever
  13. found this post on internet?? The Myth of Starvation Mode I want to start off this post by saying that I don’t think you should starve yourself to lose weight. I think it’s unhealthy and unsustainable. You learn nothing about managing your food intake if you starve yourself. If you’ve read anything I’ve written about how I’m going about losing weight you’ll understand that. But, that being said I don’t like the idea of a group of people (dieters) collectively deluding themselves about something that doesn’t exist, to wit, starvation mode.I’ve never used the expression “to wit” before, I don’t think I ever will again.Case in point, 50 Cent. You may have read the news story last week that 50 Cent lost 54 pounds in 9 weeks to play a cancer patient. How did he do it? He went on an all liquid diet and got on the treadmill 3 hours a day. Shouldn’t his body have gone into “starvation mode”? Shouldn’t it have shut down and stopped burning calories? This is what many diet books and your fat aunt will tell you. But this just isn’t how things work in real life. And we know this because we can look at people who actually starved. Ever seen a picture of the holocaust? Or a guy who has been adrift at sea for a few months? Magically everyone who actually starves somehow resists the mysterious starvation mode. Was Elie Wiesel’s metabolism less than yours? Well, yes, but that’s what happens when you get down to about 70 pounds. Here’s your basic biology lesson. Your fat is stored calories. Let’s say you need 2800 calories to function throughout the day. You can either eat your 2800 calories, or you can eat 1400 and your body can burn 1400 stored calories, or you can eat nothing and your body can burn 2800 stored calories. Your body still gets the calories, it just gets them from your stored fat. So when people say, “Don’t go under [some arbitrary number] of calories, because your body needs that just to survive.” What they’re not understanding is that your body still gets that number of calories it just gets them by burning your fat instead of the food you ate. This is all weight loss is.But starvation mode must exist, right? I mean you hear so much about it. It can’t all be bulls**t, can it?Well, kind of.Let’s clarify some things. Yes, eating will raise your metabolism. But it doesn’t ever raise it enough to make up for the influx of calories you take in by eating. Yes, your metabolism will lower as you lose weight. But that’s just how things work. It takes a lot less gas to move a Mini-Cooper 100 miles than it does to move a Hummer 100 miles. Your metabolic rate is, essentially, how much “fuel” you need to get you through the day. So,of course, it’s going to decrease as you get smaller. Yes, starvation mode exists. But it’s not something that happens to you as you try to lose weight. Starvation mode is what your body goes into once all the fat is burned. It’s your body using your muscle and internal organs for fuel because it doesn’t have anything else to use. You can’t be fat and in starvation mode. It’s like saying, “I have a lot of expendable income. And I’m bankrupt.” Listen, I’m not a doctor… or am I? (I’m not.) But I’m completely capable of reading the scientific studies about calorie reduction and metabolism and I can’t find a study that shows anything about the existence of “starvation mode” as people use the term in the dieting industry.Again, I’m not suggesting you starve yourself thin. You’ll deprive yourself of nutrients to keep you healthy and you’ll likely feel like sh** too. But I’m against the idea of perpetrating the myth of starvation mode because it needlessly complicates the issue of losing weight, and people are confused enough already.
  14. I do not think I will really hit that burning cals. it until I start sweating. I am really not pushing it yet- I feel too "soft" and don't want to hurt the old body. Spring is coming... just saw a free bootcamp at the park Sats,,,
  15. I had one fill and next trip he said NO, I had lost 6 lbs... If I hit my goal of 6 lbs this mo,,, dont want another fill,,, If I can keep losing weight at min. of 5 lbs a mo, I'll stay put. The restriction is NOT constant, but I figure- less fill less chance of band problems???. If my thinking is right. ? Today i had my first famous burp incident. Never again if I can help it... can't talk and eat at the same time! anyhow, unless a fill will make me eat even less,, then where does this starvation mode take precedence...I am lost?
  16. youll do great
  17. same question in 2 posts,,, trainer said 900 was too low to burn cal?? totaly lost
  18. good question cause my trainer at the gym said 900 was too low and I have only had one fil??
  19. For me taking the milk of magnesia relieved me of all of that pain n gas - I didn't eat anything much, so I could not figure what it would move- but it was much better after,
  20. Glad you are out and about, this first week is the worst- count the days be nice to self walk n drink those fluids, sorry they were mean at the hospital
  21. Shut the door and and hang in there, just few days you will be great. try to go and walk or walk in circles- it helps- I was walking on the deck outside in cricles at 3 am purpin n f...ng but it helped!
  22. YES AND i NEVER THREW UP ANYTHING BUT.. stomach will be irritated- watch what you eat - liquids, mushies, soft foods nothing spicy. let tummy calm down. now it's swollen and mad.
  23. I changed my MFP to 900 cal a day, and some times i go over, some times a little less, as I have no idea of what i am eating. I do NOT weight every spoonful of cashup or whatever I may season my food with, so the things I know, I lowered it to 900. This way I stay within range.
  24. Since I started this post.I have been on tuna and crab salad soups etc-so far- so good..,,, think the chicken might have to just GO or make it boiled n shredded- along with the coffee. It is a learning process to see what fits the shoe for sure.
  25. might want to add some gatorade to that sip. and malox to maybe calm the tummy area. Hope it does down soon/
