How Long Inbetween Fills?

I was supposed to have another fill on March 22nd. I have to go out of state for 3 weeks starting on March 20th. I need a fill. Do you think they would give me one before I go even though it has not been quite a month yet?

Some surgeons will do them 2 weeks apart. Will you be somewhere that you can get an unfill if needed?

I'd postpone until after the trip, but that is just me. I like to be close to my surgeon for a bit after a fill, just in case.

See thats what im struggling with. I am afraid that if I get the fill before I go then It may get to tight and I will be miserable for 3 weeks but right now my band is very loose!

did thye deflate it for your other surgery?

If I could not have at least a week at home before leaving, I would postpone. I know it sucks, but being too tight and away from your surgeon sucks, also.

I put off my first fill for two weeks for a Panama Canal cruise. I wanted it sooooo bad, but my husband would have had my head if I had had any problems while we were in the middle of the ocean!

It's a tough call. Maybe call your surgeon, they might not do a fill less than a month anyway, even though it is only a couple days short...decision made.

:)

My insurance will only cover every 4 weeks. If your surgeon will do before and it was part of the self pay fee then I don't see why they wouldn't. Agree with cocoabean that you probably should be in town for a few days after fill just in case. Or do a small fill.

I would get the fill maybe just a CC or 1.5 cc. I know when I get over filled I know right then and their if I am over filled and can't get that Water down. I have made the mistake before thinking I can handle it being a little tight but that is a big mistake. But if u are lose then yes get a cc before ur trip and drink slowly the water they give you after the fill I never felt it go they the band they always asked me do u feel it going thru the band. Was like IDk. Lol. But if you feel tight in your chest when u are drinking it then it is a little to tight. I rather have a fill before I went on a vacation then be lose and eat crap I know I should not but can and feel like crap. :).

I don't know....you don't yet know how you're going to react to fills. It would be awful to be away and be too tight. I just had a de-fill yesterday, and I'm so glad because I'm flying to San Francisco on Thursday and I already know that I'll get tighter when flying. With my luck, I'd stay tight (but I loosened up a good amount so now I should be okay).

Yes when I had my gallbladder surgery I had 5 ccs. THey had to take all my fluid out. Then when I went back she could only put the amount I had taken out back and .2 more....I was already needing a fill before my gallbladder and this .2 isnt doing anything for me...I think I am going to wait till I get back though. I will just have to be extra careful on what I am eating

according to your ticker you only have 5 lbs to go? If that is correct not too much to worry about for a few days/ :)
