  1. Glad they caught it before surgery. It won't be much longer and you'll have a new stomach to baby!
  2. That's great news! Congratulations on getting one more hurdle out of the way!
  3. Congratulations on getting a date! That's awesome news!
  4. Great start! Thanks for posting. I like the suggestion of taking 3 sips and stopping - I'll keep that in mind when I have the surgery.
  5. Wow - what a journey you have had! Thank you so much for sharing it. I am glad you are feeling better. Keep in touch.
  6. Congratulations on your weight loss! Sorry, I can't help on the other as I haven't gotten my sleeve yet. However, I'd check with your doctor.
  7. Way to go both of you! I can't wait until I get to do my closet cleaning!
  8. Glad you are feeling better. Congratulations on the weight loss too. Keep on drinking....
  9. Good luck with your surgery. Keep us updated when you can.
  10. Good luck to both of you.
  11. Thanks. Yeah, I figure my tastes will change too. But it'll give me an idea at least of what they taste like. Besides, it's a good habit to get into - trying to get more protein in so I'm not so likely to eat junk food (the real habit I'm trying to break).
  12. That's really great! Congratulations!
  13. Glad you are feeling better! From all of the reading that I have done, sleeved people can get dumping. It's just not as common. Sorry that it happened to you.
  14. That's great news! Sounds like you are doing really well. Congratulations! Dumb question - but what's scar therapy?
  15. When I have the second and third (even fourth and fifth) thoughts about doing the surgery after I had made my decision, I go back to the reasons why I chose to have the surgery in the first place. 1) The diets don't work long term for me. I want something that will give me long term weight loss because I don't want to be this heavy anymore. 2) I want my health to improve and that won't happen without significant weight loss that is long term. 3) I know me. If I try the other diets, I don't end up changing my habits to promote good health for the long term. This surgery will force me to change those habits. That's just some of the reasons of course. But you get the idea. Doing this gets me past those second thoughts. Just think about why you chose to have the surgery in the first place. It may not be helpful to everyone, but that's what works for me.
  16. Because I have the occasional acid reflux and the doctor just wants to make sure that everything is healthy before the surgery.
  17. Wow, you are doing terrific! The rest will happen. Thank you for posting.
  18. Congratulations! That's a great milestone that you have reached! It gives me hope! Thank you for sharing.
  19. Sorry about the loss of your father. That is a tough time. But, congratulations on your weight loss!
  20. Thanks for the update. What a terrific loss so far! Keep it up!
  21. Welcome to the forum. It's perfectly natural to be scared - you are not alone in this. So far, my pre-op testing includes a blood test (CBC, Vitamin/mineral level, A1C, etc), an ultrasound of my gallbladder and an EGD test due to the occasional acid reflux that I have. I imagine as I get closer to my date (whenever that will be), it will include more stuff at the hospital (like an EKG).
  22. Welcome and congratulations on getting sleeved on the 27th. I haven't been sleeved yet, but based on what others have posted, yes, the surgery will help with many of your health concerns. I think it's perfectly natural to be getting more nervous and scared. Afterall, this is a major surgery. However, keep in mind the reasons you are doing this and that will help. Feel free to ask questions here too. I have no doubt that you will come though it just fine.
  23. It is happening and you are doing great! Congratulations on your loss!
  24. Wow, that is great! What a wonderful view.
