No Symptons Normal or not?
I am alittle over 3 months out and I have no symptoms, but I take it as a good sign. Some of the signs mention are not things I want to experience. I am losing slowly, but I am very content where I am. I am down 35 lbs...and have 42 lbs to go. I did get a tiny fill not sure what it was because I don't want to know now. I don't feel any restriction. I only lost 5 lbs this month, and I am due for another fill next month, but I really feel comfortable where I am. I feel like normal...i chug water like before...and chew like normal too! I am afraid to get the symptoms and regret the fill. So, be careful, just because u feel normal don't be. Follow ur dr. orders and you will be successful! Good luck to you! AND WELCOME!

What is the one thing you love about yourself when you look in the Mirror...
My waist. Just tried on an old belt and remember it was on the last hole, realized I just lost 7 inches off my waist in 3 months. Ahh! What a great feeling considering I have not seen the scale change a lot.

Why did you chose the band?
My diabetes doctor referred me to lapband. He also warned me ahead time that the lapband surgeons may sway me to the bypass procedure due to numbers and quick weight loss. but, ultimately it was my choice. I read this forum for 2 yrs and watched youtube videos of ppl who had surgery. I didn't have 100 lbs to lose. I just needed to lose 60 to 70 lbs. To be healthy. So, I am 33 lbs down and had surgery in the end if May. 1. I chose lapband over bypass because I didn't like the idea of having my stomach cut and having to take Vitamins because my body wouldn't be absorbing the vitamins from food. I totally don't feel getting rid of one problem to trade it in for another. Plus, if I absolutely had problems with lapband we can get it removed. I like to leave my options open. There would be no way, I can do that with bypass. (some of the surgeons staff was surprised I was going to get lapband and not bypass due to the bypass helping diabetes immediately, but again my bmi was 37 now it 31) guess, what my diabetes improved 75% from the day I had surgery. I was maxed out on meds. But now, I am only taking one pill. I am waiting for the day to say adios. 2. I have not encountered any problems with the band, I drink Water the same, I eat small meals and still don't know what stuck feeling feels like. I am losing weight slow, but, I am still happy with my progress. I feel better all around. I am very active and I feel great buying new clothes. I just bought a size M dress and size 10 skinny jeans. I am looking forward to the next 30 lbs. Overall, I am healthier today then I was 3 months ago. I have to admit, I do feel alot more sassy. Btw, I didn't tell any friends just a select few. I feel better that way. I didn't want ppl judging me and not understanding why.

How soon after surgery can you do stomach exercises?
It's been 3 mths since my surgery and I finally made it back to the gym. Regular cardio is good for me, however with losing some weight I want to tighten some of that loose skin. I felt it was a good time to do sit ups and crunches. I felt a bit weak in those muscles, but overall ok doing them. Then that night and the next few days....my stomach was a bit swollen and I felt pain by port area. Not sure, if this is normal. Just curious, what your experiences are?

Feel like I am stuck...
Iam stuck too! It does get a bit discouraging, but I keep at it! I keep going up and down the same 2 lbs. And have only lost 20 lbs not including preop diet. I do myfitness.com, I eat between 900 cal-1100 cal a day, walk daily and eat my protein. Not sure, what's going on. I need to find something to help me lose more. My goal is 10 lbs a month, but this month it is not happening. Next week, my kids are back at school and I am going to hit the gym. I am going to try to think positive and not give up! Good luck to you all and please let us know how ur progress goes.

Post-op Challenges
Today, we had out of town guests and they wanted to go to my fav. Mexican restraurant, which on Sundays is champagne buffet. All night, I was thinking about no going due to the temptation , my hubby I should go because it was my family (they don't know about band surgery), so, I went. I had a bowl of soup 170 cals. And had fresh shrimp and fresh guacomole 6 chips and I was sooo satisfied. I ate slow and purposely got up between bites, to get my daughters food and bathroom breaks they are young and restless...i was very proud of myself and absolutely do not feel bad. This is sooo big for me, before lapband banded, I would of took 3 trips to the buffet with full plates. I am feeling good and ppl are noticing my wt. Lost.

How many calories
I am between 900 - 1200 cals. A day. I only walk for 30 mins a day and swim 60 mins. I feel very satisifed and don't feel deprived. For breakfast I usually have eggs or protein shake only.lunch, salad with protein or protein wrap. Snack on lite cheese or sf jello pudding. Dinner protein, veggies and fruit. And lots of water between 80 to 100 oz of water and sometimes at night for a snack I will have a sf popsicle fudge. I need to up my exercise more, cause I only lose a 1-2 lbs,a week, but I feel good.

Starting A Stall After Lap Band Surgery
I feel like my weight loss has been really slow....I gets very discouraging knowing...in two months I only lost 18 lbs after surgery. I mean my clothes are falling off, but I still would like to see more progress since I am eating around 900 -1000 cal. a day. so, I decided to pay attention to my carb intake. I have not had any bread, pasta or rice and keep away from all sweets besides sugar free jello pudding and popsicles. I am going to try to keep my carbs under 50 g per day, my sugar is already under 24 grams a day. I really hope this gives me the boost that I need.

Can you tell me what size you wear??
I use to be 42DDD, size 16, sometimes 14, and weigh about 200lbs, 5'2 and most of my wt. Was chest, belly and small legs and shoulders. I would go with a XL top or X1, and buy 16 in bottoms. I had breast reduction 2 yrs ago and went down to a 38 D and now wearing a loose size 14. Wt. 180 now since my LB 8 wks ago. I am wearing mostly sundresses this summer. I bought a size medium and it helps with pressure on my port site and I can wear them anywhere.

Bread
I was, told,no bread, pasta or rice for first 6 mos. It does not bother me not to have pasta or rice. Bread I am not sure, I am mentally ready to have it, I think I will get a taste and then keep wanting more. So for now just keeping away from it.

Sugar & Carbs Question
My goal for, carbs is 50g and for, sugar it is 24g I do great with the sugar always below, but my carbs, have been in the 80's,and 90's. This week's goal is to hit under 50g of carbs. Maybe that is,why I am not losing this past week.
