May 2011 Bandsters

I was banded May 19th this year and just wondering where everyone was in thier progress from that month? I started at 273, now at 249. Exercise almost everyday for about an hour and just had my second fill last friday July 8th. I think so far my weight loss is decent but I bet some of you have done better! I'd like to hear about it!

hey hey. i was banded may 16th.. day of operation i was 288, today i'm 263. i've had 1 fill, on june 9th. went in for a 2nd a few days ago but the doc didn't want to do it because i've lost 15 in about a month. i am totally okay with that.

and for the past 2 weeks i've really been slacking on the exercise and i can see it on the scale. bah! evil devil exercise... keep up the good work!

I was banded on May 27th, start weight preop 204lbs, now I am 180 lbs. I am down 24 lbs....i am so looking forward to be in the 170's it has been about 13 yrs since I have seen that #. I just got my first fill on July 12th, so I am on liquids again til tomorrow. Hoping to lose one more pound tomorrow, to reward myself with some MAC makeup, I hit 2 mini goals, 25 lbs down and out if the 180's. I am no longer on high blood pressure meds and my diabetes type 2, has improved remarkably!!! My fill is very conservative. Doc. Did not tell me how many cc's and I didn't ask. I kinda don't want to know....don't want to get hung up on anymore #'s. For now.

Congrats to everyone on their success!

I was banded May 23, 2011 and I've lost 44 pounds. I had 3 weeks where I didn't lose anything and had to up my calories to get the scale moving. I have not had any fills.

I have a long way to go, but my clothes are definitely looser and I'm feeling better. I've been exercising 3-4 times a week and drinking 10-12 glasses of Water a day. I weigh in tomorrow and I am hoping for another bit of a loss...though TOM is supposed to start this weekend so you never know!

Hey everyone,

Glad to see everyone is doing well! I was banded on May 31st, 283 before the diet, 268 the day of surgery, and 242 today for a total of 41 pounds down. I exercise 5 times a week, and just incorporated strength training into my diet at 4 weeks post op. I also got my first fill on July 6th, 6ccs in my 11cc Realize Band. Def. More restriction but not at my sweet spot yet...but I want to take the fills slow, scares of being too tight.

I was banded on May 18th. Starting weight was 283lbs I am now at 240lbs. Everything is going great I have had 2 fills so now i have 4cc in my band. I def. fill alot more restriction but I dont think i'm at my sweet spot. Keep up the good work everyone.

Hi Everyone,

I was banded on May 13th with a starting weight of 197. Ive had 2 fills so far and now I'm at 179 and I have a total of 4ccs in my band. I'm really happy with my progress so far but I am feeling like I don't have much restriction at all. I haven't been excercising and have been eating pretty much the same things I was eating before, just a smaller amount. I'm not in any rush so I guess we'll see what happens.

Wishing good luck to all the May Bandsters!!

I was banded May 11th and I have lost 24lbs total, I have had 2fill, I am now 5cc in a 11cc band. My loss has been very slow, I still feel no restriction but I know It's coming soon, don't get discouraged sounds like you are on track. Also I have not started exercising yet, going to join the gym this week.

Hi. I was banded may 18th, I did 2week pre-op diet, including my pre op loss I'm down now 37 lbs. I've definitely slowed down, averaging about 2 lbs per week now, which is good for me. Sounds like everyone is doing really well, congrats!

Oh, also haven't had a fill yet, I think probably next week, definitely nervous about that!

Oh my god! You all have done so very well. I feel like a complete slacker next to you.

I was banded May 19. I started at 220 and am now down to 207. My weight actually went up a couple of pounds but I lost them. This has been so hard for me. I am a workout fiend and was before I even thought of having surgery. I swim at least 3-4 times a week, hit the treadmill or walk in my neighborhood most other days.

I am just struggling with feeling restriction. I had my first fill in June and was ravenous the week after. I had another fill a couple of weeks ago. But I still cannot get the hang of solid food. Seems like no matter what I eat, I can't drop weight consistently. I know it doesn't help that I had goiters on my thyroid and had to have it removed last year, but this is ridiculous.

I am beginning to seriously regret the surgery and all the pain and discomfort I went through.

Hi guys,

I was banded on May 31st weighing in at 263lbs..now I'm at 220lbs..down 43lbs. I just got my 1st fill last week and I have 3.5cc in my 11cc band. My clothes are falling off my body..lol. I have yet to do much exercise (besides walking) but I know once I started the weight will melt off. I am losing pretty good right now!!

Everyone seems to be doing well..keep it up May 2011 bandsters!!

I was banded on May 24. Before my preop diet I was 310. At the hospital I was 299. This morning I was 278. I have lost 21 pounds since surgery. I have 6cc in a 9cc band. I am definitely not @ my sweet spot yet. I have very little restriction. I can't wait til Friday when I go for my nect fill!

Oh, Amanda, please don't give up. Sometimes one change makes a difference. When I hit a plateau eating under 500 calories a day (and I was starting to feel weak!), I kicked it up to 800 a day, and started losing again. Everyone is different as far as what works for you. But you certainly have the exercise part down--super good for you! I am walking a little and exercising my arms. Can't bring myself to do much more right now. So you are so much further ahead than I am in such an important aspect of this thing.

The thing that has helped me the most is sticking to eating AT LEAST 80 Protein a day, and drinking at least 64 oz of liquids a day (between meals), and staying around 800 cal a day. I am positive that the protein is what keeps me from feeing hungry, feeling satisfied with the little meals that I am eating very slowly.

I hope some of these suggestions help. Super good luck. One day you are going to look back on this little glitch and just see it as a little bump in the road. Take care.
