  1. Heyyy May Bandsters, Glad to hear that everyone is doing so well! I was banded on the 31st of August and as of this past tuesday (which was my 16 week mark), I am down 70 pounds. I have had 3 fills so far, the first one was 6ccs, the seconds was an addition of 1cc, and the third was an addition of .5ccs. I have an 11cc Realize Band and I thought I knew what restriction was before...but i am really feeling it now. & I find myself wanting to eat more than my band can physically take so my mind hasn't adjusted to almost being at the green zone! I'm really happy with my weight loss and it has truly been a partnership between using the tool, which is the band, and also incorporating exercise in my daily routine. I do not think that I would be where I am at without both the exercise & the band. Hope everyone is doing well. Congrats to use for being losers!
  2. Hey everyone, Glad to see everyone is doing well! I was banded on May 31st, 283 before the diet, 268 the day of surgery, and 242 today for a total of 41 pounds down. I exercise 5 times a week, and just incorporated strength training into my diet at 4 weeks post op. I also got my first fill on July 6th, 6ccs in my 11cc Realize Band. Def. More restriction but not at my sweet spot yet...but I want to take the fills slow, scares of being too tight.
  3. June 15th weighing in at 253.6 Happy Wednesday!
  4. I agree with the person above. I am just barely out- it will officially be 2 weeks tomorrow- and I had the tummy rumbles as well. I still get them now even though I am on my soft phase of the diet until 1 month post op. congrats on surgery! How are you feeling?
  5. That sounds awesome! Congrats! Hope I am able to say the same when I am 5 weeks out
  6. Congrats on your first fill! I have not experienced one yet- Just had surgery on the 31st and I'm scheduled for my first fill on 7/6....I hate needles so I hope it won't be too uncomfortable. Its good that you figured out you were too tight before you left!
  7. I forgot to weigh in last week! but as of today I am 254.2, which is a loss of 12 pounds for the past 2 weeks
  8. Thanks for your reply! I was banded on the 31st of May and I have to say, for my first surgery it went well. I don't even remember a thing. It felt like I took a long deep nap, and when I woke up I was so doped up I couldn't really feel anything but soreness. But I hope that your journey is going well! Right now, I am about 8 days post op and I have been cleared to go to Stage 3 of food, which is mushies, for the rest of the month until my first fill on July 6 ( would have been earlier if it wasn't for the holiday)...but either way..I'm looking forward to losing! Nice to see someone else my age on the same path. Keep in touch!
  9. Weighing in at 257.8 today. Yay!
  10. Yes, starting weight is 268. Sorry about that!
  11. I,was also banded yesterday. Was discharged from the hospital today and the gas pains are finally kicking in. Weirdly enough the most pain is coming from my neck area, and port area ofcourse. Passed my Swallow test this morning, which was pretty cool to watch on the xray screen. I wish everyone a speedy and healthy recovery!
  12. I was banded today as well...hope everything went well for you!
  13. Not sure how your doctor is, but for band patients they can shower immediately with antigerm body wash like Dial. As far as gas pains I'm still waiting to experience it.(just got banded today the 31st) .but I heard that heat pads in combination with gas x and walking may do the trick. Guess we shall see!
