June 2010 I took a family friend to the hospital for LapBand surgery.  I didn't know much about it, or why people did it...but it got me thinking. I began to do research, visit lapbandtalk.com, and watch YouTube Vlogs on people who had LapBand surgery. I was amazed at what I found... the success, the willpower it takes, the results.... it was all fascinating to me.  In February 2011 my mom got banded with the Realize band.  After hard work and focus with help from her band, she has lost 50lbs to date.  I attended my first appointment with my sugreon's office in January 2011.  It took a little time for me to get through the whol process because I got nervous, thought I'd try it on my own, had doubts, etc. But here I am, 6 months later ready to have gastric banding surgery on 7/6/11! This is my time to focus on being a healthier, happier ME :)
