  1. Yeah- hmm maybe we are doing something posture wise- maybe our body's haven't caught up from losing some weight rather quickly- is what I was thinking - well at least I'm in good company with it- hope it eases up for us all.
  2. I'm down about 34 lbs since day of surgery- I have psoriatic arthritis but it's been mild lately of course the weather is changing but- I'm having increased lower back pain since I've lost weight. I'm trying to figure out if this is normal or if I might be adjusting to the weight loss and standing different or doing something different with my posture. Has anyone else experienced this?
  3. I made some of that for my office on my first day back to work and brought tortilla chips for them- I make it with boneless chicken breast- I ate a few bites with out the chips and it was soooo good.
  4. I have a juicer- I was going to ask if juicing fruits would be too many sugars since I'm just 6 weeks out- and I'm watching carbs and sugar content. Glad you mentioned it - I'm going to ask on my next appt.
  5. http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/ I use the Tornada (tank) mega but the regular Tornado is nice too. These are much bigger than some offered and don't look or feel like a cigarette but they do have some that look like cigarettes if holding a cigarette is a big part of your habit- I highly recommend the Tank versions- as its so simple to refill and last longer. Here is the link for the liquids I normally get cherry or apple red label and I've gotten the tobacco flavored to but I ended up preferring the apple and cherry- you can order most of these in 0mg or even taper down to eventually get to 0mg. These is a 1-800 number if you need help making sure you have picked out the correct parts- for your unit or have other questions and they have kits- that have everything in one box. Definitely get the manual one with the button to push. http://www.totallywi...d-products.html
  6. yum - that sounds good- I will look for it locally. Thanks
  7. Congrats on being sleeved- Hope you are recovering well.
  8. I'm counting carbs but I'm just a month out. I eat Shrimp, Scallops, Salmon, Flounder- any of the fishes baked or grilled- not fried or battered. I eat Chobani Yogurt, String Cheese, Pork Rinds when I want to eat something kind of bad, I make a smoothie with protein powder, yogurt, strawberry, blueberry and a little banana about 2 times a week, I tried chicken this week and it went down fine- it was in a dish I made for my office- the buffalo chicken dip- I just didn't eat the tortilla chips that I took in with it- I had some pork roast this week that was roasted and very moist- Today I went to Arby's and got a plain sandwich and ate only the meat about 1 oz- and I have plenty to take to work with me for tomorrow's lunch. I've made eggface's crab bites, shrimp bites and plan to make one of her cassouletts tomorrow with sausage and beans. I've had beef jerky, eggs, fried and poached- and tuna salad with bagle chips- sometimes I still fall back on SF Popsicles, SF pudding or Jello. And to drink I just have water- on occasion decaf tea with stevia or international suisse mocha decaf coffee sugar free. I don't often meet my protein goal- I usually fall somewhere in between 40-50 grams of protein per day but I'm working on it. I also use the test strips a few times a week to make sure I'm still in ketosis and I notice when I let too many carbs slide in that my levels really change. But when I go to exercise- I try to get in a little bit of complex carbs through beans or dense veggies- I don't think simple carbs are good for me right now. A lot of those things listed- I couldn't eat until I was cleared for solids- stage 4. But- I think it's a personal choice to low carb it or not- for me- I KNOW that carbs are not my friend. My daily carb intake is usually between 19-35 tho on occasion I go over 40.
  9. I'm 5 weeks out tomorrow- I can eat about 1-2 ounces a sitting. For instance 3 medium shrimp or half a roll up of one slice deli turkey with hummus spread and a thin slice of swiss cheese rolled up- or 1ounce shredded chicken with cream soup sauce but I can eat 3 ounces of chobani yogurt. I tend to eat something about every 3 hours. It does seem like this week that I can eat a bit more at a time- I'm not sure if that means more swelling has gone done and I'm healing or if my sleeve is just relaxing more.
  10. Does it happen about an hour to hour and a half after you've eaten? I've experienced that- I wrote a post on here a few weeks ago about how I nearly passed out while I was driving my daughter to school. Very scary. Feeling lightheaded and dizzy can be caused by different things but for me- it was because I was lower than I should have been on fluids and my blood sugar dropped. My doctor said my pancreas was over reacting when I ate and that I should try to walk right after I eat- that didn't make a lot of sense to me but then I'm not a doctor so- go figure. I do notice that when I'm real nicely in the higher end of ketosis - that I'm very fatigued, dizzy- prone to lightheadedness- but ketosis is where I want to be in order to lose weight at a good rate- if I eat some carbs I feel pretty normal but then I move out of ketosis so- I'm just resigned to the fact that I'm going to have to deal with it- Most people I've talked to seem to feel fine- even great with more energy in ketosis- maybe over time it will happen for me- Right now- I just keep an emergency pack in my car of stuff to raise my blood sugar in a hurry if need be- Hope you get to feeling better and find out what's causing this dizziness for you.
  11. Wonderful! I'm so excited for you!
  12. Hey! That is SO awesome about your weight loss and how you have been exercising. You have been through a lot but you are a survivor and things are definitely look up. I'm so glad for you! Keep us updated! :-)
  13. Egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, Chicken and Beef Consume,Tomato soup- - creamed soups through a strainer- like cream of broccoli, chicken, mushroom- I used those but honestly to me they just tasted like flavored milk- but I loved the egg drop and chicken consume
  14. Maybe it's time to really check the hidden carbs in your daily intake.
  15. I'm 2 days shy of one month post op and having a time getting my protein, calories and fluids in. I average about 400- 600 calories per day. Stay under 40 for carbs and am barely getting in 40 g of protein or less. I can eat about 1 ounce of food 3 times a day but I've been trying to use some extra snack foods like cheese and yogurt that go down easier to try to up the protein count at the end of the day. It's a real struggle for me because I'm full so easily and I'm not hungry so - I have to really remind myself to eat, eat eat- and drink, drink drink. I'm a little worried about the low protein content to be honest but I'm still losing on average about a pound a day. I just hope that it's all fat and not muscle.
  16. I used the e-cig. I started a year ago. I bought my e-cigs and slowly began to switch over from analogs (regular cigs) to the e-cig. After I got comfortable vaping instead of smoking- I began to wean myself off nicotine- getting lower doses of nicotine liquids until I was vaping 0mg liquid. It helped me to not have to deal with no nicotine plus the sudden no hand to mouth motion. I actually still vape- and I like it for those times when I have that urge. I also still feel very comfortable to go stand with the smokers outside with my little vape stick-- previously when I quit smoking I felt very isolated from my friends who smoked because I couldn't stand being around people smoking if I wasn't also. It worked for me.
  17. Well - thank goodness I'm in good company- Thanks for all the replies- I appreciate it.
  18. Steamed Shrimp- I get a lb. from the grocer and they steam it right there for me. Lasts me a few days. Fish- like Salmon with dill, Tilapia or flounder- crab meat, scallops Pork Rinds seems to be my go to when I want to feel like I had a bad snack. Chicken Broth or consume spiked with a bit of unjury chicken soup flavored protein. Kalamata Olives for that Salt Craving- I eat just one or two for the flavor. Hummus Boars Head Turkey- I like the Salsalito Turkey- a little spice and great flavor.
  19. I'm nearly a month post op and there is a smell that I can't figure out where it's coming from but I know its because I'm in ketosis- Some days its real mild- other days its overwhelming (like now) and nothing I do gets rid of it- To me it smells faintly of gasoline or chemical- website sources say its a typical fruity or acetone type smell- when people go into ketosis- No one around me has mentioned it so it must not be overpowering- but I notice it. I'm constantly in brushing my teeth, rinsing with mouthwash but it's not actually coming from my mouth- It might be coming from my nose or.. it's just weird and bothersome- any advice on how to deal with it -
  20. Yep- I love that site- I use it every day to keep on track and to know if i'm low on something or need more of something else- dont forget to add hidden things like vitamins and calcium and that sort- they have those items in the database too
