  1. Man I am really having trouble picturing this. What is your secret to magic skin?
  2. I have BCBS and I had to pay the hospital my deductible upfront. In fact, they charged me too much and I got a refund about 4 weeks later.
  3. No you don't feel the band. The port may sometimes be sensitive for some people but not the band.
  4. Good luck with your band. I know you must be happy. I even felt relieved!
  5. Like a true fence sitter, I agree with everything said.
  6. Yep, you probably just need some lubrication!
  7. I use a protein shake to take my meds in the morning so I guess I drink it pretty slowly. But if I have one for a snack I slam it down because it is about the only thing I can do that with.
  8. If you have tried everything else and have failed then maybe you do need the band. 200 lbs is a lot on a 5 foot frame so I agree with you there. I think this is something you and your doctor should decide. Honestly, most other people just don't understand what it is like to live in your shoes. To answer your question I think a lot of ladies on here have started out in the 200 pound range.
  9. Don't get hung up on the fills. It is about losing weight which you are doing GREAT at. I suspect your weight loss will slow down and the fills can come later. Like Missy said, are you hungry between meals........
  10. My incisions were glued together so I didn't have any tape. Doc just told me not to stand directly in the stream of water. I pat dried immediately upon finish.
  11. That will be a great birthday present for you. I had my surgery in my birth month too. You should be starting your pre op diet soon shouldn't you?
  12. Hey, good luck to you and good job on that nesting!
  13. I crush anything bigger than an aspirin based on my docs instructions. I have also changed some meds to liquid. Doc said he doesn't want all of my meds piling up in the pouch and wants them to pass to the stomach.
  14. I know that must have been hard to do. I hope your friend doesn't acquire any hard feelings. I think you did the right thing though to save her future embarrassment.
  15. I never had any kind of leakage or draining. Talk to your doc and make him earn some of that money you threw at him.
  16. I like knowing that if I have problems with my band I can post it on here and someone else has probably already been through the same thing. I also like the fact there are people here with so many different experiences. PS: don't like the negative nannys!
  17. Took me three months of hoop jumping and then another month to get scheduled for surgery. Four months total. It all went by fast enough for me. Hope it does for you also.
  18. We had a guy in the Air Force that smelled so bad we had to mail him a bar of soap. Message received.
  19. I think some people might be upset if they found out. Might make you look bad. Ask your boss to give you a $500 bonus! Good luck in whatever you choose.
  20. You look very trim and fit. I'm impressed!
  21. All I can tell you is I was glued also and I never bled, Might want to talk to the nurse at your docs office.
  22. Different doctors put the port in different places. Mine is above my naval and slightly to the left. I have heard some have them placed higher or even in the waistline.
  23. Wouldn't bother me if someone wore it during sex...................
