  1. I have the opposite problem. When I look in the mirror I see a stud. Then someone shows me a photo of myself and I see fat ass. I wouldn't think you would need counseling though. Probably just not used to your new body. BUT, I haven't even been banded so I can't really understand what your talking about. Not sure why I even posted.
  2. Yep I know about the protein. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to do me much good. Doc has me on three protein shakes per day.
  3. Like you I am on day 4 and my headaches have gone a way as well. I did have some hunger pains today though and I still have loose things coming out the exhaust. I also noticed that when I went outside and did some yard work and played with the dogs I was sweating very much. Just can't get Taco Bell out of my head!
  4. If you have sleep apnea I would suggest you use a cpap. It is not worth the risk of a stroke in my opinion. I was told to bring my cpap for use after surgery during recovery. During surgery you will have other things stuck up your nose.
  5. I am diabetic too and what I have done is eat lo carb and make sure I get my Protein. I haven't been banded yet so I don't know how that will change for me. But if I have to get my protein through shakes and "Atkins" type Snacks, that is what I will do.
  6. Hello! I am also diabetic and hypothyroid so I know the problems those things can cause as far as weight go. Good luck to you.
  7. Wow! You have been through a lot already. All I know to say is this..... I finally admitted to myself that I could not lose weight on my own after years of trying and failing. I also have diabetes and the complications have started to show. So yes, I would follow through with the surgery if it was me. Maybe you could postpone it until you are sure you are completely healed.
  8. Hi there. What do you mean you were excited? What have you seen that has changed your outlook?
  9. I find it interesting how different doctors have different pre-op diet requirements.
  10. I also have a headache since I quit eating. I am hoping it will go away after my body adjust. I started Sunday night so I have only completed two days. There has also been a little looseness down south if you know what I mean.
  11. That sounds like a pretty good idea. I think I will mix veg and a cube and put it in the crock pot.
  12. Thanks. I just got back from the store with some chicken broth. I added some seasonings to it and it was pretty good. Better than Jello. The salt made a big difference I think.
  13. For those of you who have started your liquid diet, how goes it? I am on my second day and it is not fun! Basically I can only "eat" jello and broth. Major bummer!
  14. My doc wants me to stay overnight because I live over an hour away.
  15. Hey, here is my menu. Everything is sugar free of course. Crystal Light coffee Kool-Aid Tea Plain Jello Popsicles Sodas Plain broth Soup Plus three slim fast shakes, or equivalent (I use locarb, it has 20 grams of protein) 10 8oz glasses of Water each day (this is the worst part for me)
  16. My surgery is on the 3rd and I started my liquid diet today. I am not allowed any food, but instead three protein shakes a day and a bunch of clear liquids. Its only 2 o'clock and I already feel the stomach pains......
  17. Thanks! I am going to need all of the luck I can get. This liquid diet seems like it may be the hardest part of the whole deal.
  18. Starting my clear liquid diet in the morning. I know this is going to be a tough two weeks and I hope I can pull it off! Surgery on 10-03. Wish me luck!
  19. Thanks! And those are some great looking fish!
  20. Well, I have had my stomach scoped and the doc found some erosion. He advised me to stop taking my daily aspirin as he suspects that is the culprit. I also had an IVC installed through my neck. Anybody else had this problem with aspirin? So now I have a surgery date of October 3rd. Two weeks of liquids prior to that. I started this deal on March 31 so it will be about 6 months from beginning to surgery. I guess that is not too bad. I also have a cyst in my neck I need to have removed prior to the end of the year so I won't have to pay a new deductible off to get it done. Already had two cataract surgeries and a colonoscopy done. I have been at the hospital way too much this year!
  21. You look beautiful. Great job!
  22. That is just the way I feel about it.
  23. I like that too. Some Protein drinks don't even have that much. Like nectar for example.
  24. I wasn't fat until about 36. When i started gaining weight I did notice that people treated me differently. And when I got really fat, like I am now, there was a big difference in peoples attitudes.
