  1. Hi all. BCBS says I have to see a dietitian for three months and have my doctor supervise my diet for the same three months. What do you think they expect from me? If I lose weight will they tell me I don't need the surgery? I have dieted enough to know I can lose about 30 pounds before I fail and start gaining it back. I am 6'1" and exactly 400 pounds yesterday.
  2. I have been reading all of these interesting posts. But I am new and don't know what PB is. Anyone?
  3. Oddly, I have noticed a different kind of reaction from people. I am a big guy anyway, tall, broad shouldered, big boned. Because I carry my fat a little differently from some obese people I am perceived as some sort of tough guy sometimes. I have been told I "intimidate people" and that "you are a big man, I wouldn't want to mess with you." What is funny is that I get tired so easily when I do physical labor. If someone did "mess" with me they would probably be very successful. I am also a very sloppy dresser so I do, with that and my size, get the "he must be a lazy dumb ass" treatment from people sometimes.
  4. Thanks for your support!
  5. Well, thanks ya'll. I have seen the doctor but before my insurance will pay for the surgery they want me to see a nutritionist for 3 months and also see a pulmonary doctor and a psych. These requirements are new for this year. Guess I waited too long to act. So it will be well into the summer before I can have any surgery. It took me a while to make the decision but now I am very impatient and want to get moving.
  6. Not one hello.... First time I have never been welcomed to a forum.
  7. Hi there. I am new and reporting for duty ........ not banded yet. Thinking about using Dr. King from Oxford, Mississippi. Anyone use him?
