Scared of transition to soft food
Soft fish is an easy one to eat. Talapia is a white fish and you can cook it til it's really soft in just a little olive oil and put lemon over it and it's really good. It's easy to eat.

Another question about Dr. Aceves
I don't even know what I had. I remember my legs being shaky the first time I tried to get up and walk. Whatever they gave me, it was not a problem. It was out when I got back to my room. Honestly, I don't remember anything. I don't even remember being taken to surgery. I just remember WasA calling me at 5 am telling me I would be going back to sleep soon enough.

Scared of transition to soft food
Everyone seems to have problems with eggs. I made egg salad and it was easy to eat, but only a few bites at a time. I don't like eggs any other way, so I haven't tried them scrambled. I've heard a lot of people complain they don't do well with them though. Yogurt does go down easily.

Ok time to get honest about protein
In the beginning when it was hard for me to eat, I ate 2 bites of either tuna, chicken, or egg salad. I would eat 2 bites throughout the day. Sometimes one bite would be all I could get down, but then I would try one more bite an hour later. In between, I would sip my water. It got easier each day. I didn't start solids when I as supposed to, until it got much easier to eat the mushies.

Come in and chat with me!
Does anyone want to set up a regular chat day and time? I am on the west coast so we need to take into consideration the time difference so that this will work for people in other time zones. I know people come in and leave, because nobody else is in there. You can see the last few lines when you log into chat. Now if we could just make it so people come in at the same time, that would be great!

Ok time to get honest about protein
I am with Mac on this one. I killed 2 birds with one stone so to speak, my first few days. Isopure has a lot of protein and gives you 20 oz of liquid at the same time. After that, I used GNC unflavored protein powder in Crystal lite and SF Hawaiin punch.

Belly button question - Sorry, kind of gross!
Great idea Susan, we need a belly button update!

popcorn
Those 100 calorie microwave bags are good. they aren't greasy. At least then it's portion controlled. I am glad when I go to the movies, my sleeve does not let me eat as much as my band did. I eat a little bit of it and I feel so stuffed, it's not as appealing as it used to be when I could polish off a large bag with no problem.

Frustrated and need to vent......
I'm so sorry. I hope they can get this figured out for you. I hope the shots you will give yourself will take care of this for you.

1 Step Forward, 5 Steps Backward
There is a book called the Beck Diet Solution. It's not a diet. It's supposed to retrain your mind. I have heard that the work book that goes along with the book is more helpful than the book. You can order it through amazon. It helped me, but I didn't even know about the work book when I ordered the book. I paid $9 for the book through Amazon. Maybe there is even a copy of it at the library?

Regrets?
I have no regrets at all. Eating out can be difficult because no matter where you go, it's expensive if you can only eat 1/4 of what they bring you. I do bring a lot of food home, but some food just doesn't reheat well. I still don't regret if for even one second. I just regret spending the money to get the band, but I would have never learned about the sleeve if I hadn't had the band first.

What is PT and INR? I have never heard of these in a blood test.

Water *H2O*
If I am really thirsty when I am eating, I will take a sip of water and it doesn't seem to matter. The reason to not drink with your meals is it's supposed to make us get hungry faster but I don't think a sip will cause that.

Most sleeve Drs out of country?
in her original post, she was asking about people being banded by doctors in mexico. I was banded by a doctor right here in my town. He just barely started doing sleeves. i wanted a doc experienced in band to sleeve revisions, and Dr. Aceves fit that bill.

Water *H2O*
I can drink a 20 oz bottle of water in about 5 min. I drink 24 oz of water to get all my meds down in the morning and it takes me less than 5 min cause I am usually late for work.

Most sleeve Drs out of country?
It's only because most ins. companies will not pay for the sleeve. That's why so many of us are going to Mexico. It's cheaper there for someone paying out of pocket. I would have been thrilled to have an ins. company pay for my surgery, but since I didn't, I feel that I went to the best doctor for the best price, who happens to practice in Mexico.

popcorn
I like regular popcorn way better than kettle corn.

Ok time to get honest about protein
Wouldn't Isopure take care of both at once? It's high in Protein, and I would think it's a good liquid for hydration. I feel so bad for everyone that has this problem. I had the opposite problem. i wanted to drink all the time and I had to remind myself to slow down. I had no trouble getting 60 grams of protein and 64 oz of Water in every day since the day I left the hospital. All I can say is remember to keep sipping throughout the day and evening.

Two days out.
Do you have muscle relaxers? What about a heating pad? I have always heard those help.

Dating sucks
Yeah, I am joining a book club and the ball room dancing. There is a hiking group, but I hate that they drive miles and miles to go on a hike. That's the last thing I feel like doing is driving 100 miles for a certain hike. Maybe if I went to one of the closer ones, I could meet someone to car pool with.

I think I over did it this weekend
I over did it as well. I wish I could say that I over did it with work, but I over did it with junk food. Cookies to be exact. I just decided to take a break from it all and ate an entire bag of cookies. they were mint choc. like the girl scout cookies. I decided to eat the whole bag in one day rather than drag it out. They are gone now and it's back to the ol routine. I gained 2 lbs which I didn't think was that much for an entire bag of cookies. I think it's because I have been really sick. I can't exercise because I feel like cr@p and all I have been doing is laying around . I go to the dr. tomorrow. I am really sick of being sick.

Liquid Preop and calories
You're lucky that you like the isopure. Most people hate it. I never minded it. It's a great way to get in all the Protein. As far as calories go, Dr. Aceves tells his patients not to go over 800 . Can you email or call your dr.. to get more precise instructions?

No More weight coming off...and bummed
Oh my DD swears that VS bras are really comfortable. I think once you get to that stage, just go try some on. You can also get them on ebay much cheaper. (or so she says)
