    Driver's License

I noticed today that I actually weigh 5 lbs. less than the wild lie that has been listed on my driver's license for the past 25 years! 🤣🤩 I guess it qualifies as a NSV.

I take things in regular size containers. Talk more, move my utensils around stirring food or moving food around in the container more and so far it is going okay. I am still in the Full liquid stage so I do a lot soups and yogurts. So far no one has noticed, that I am aware of. I do tell people I am doing more mindful eating so pausing between bites, etc... Mindful eating is a buzzword so it seems to placate them.

The bum problem is REAL! My tailbone huts like a MF. Ive started just today using a rolled up towel like a donut pillow to deal with tailbone issues. I wonder if I'm going to have to have towels with me everywhere just for this. Hehe...Ive gone the other way, even though I am cold most of the time, I can ONLY drink ice cold water with TONS of ice. In Europe we dont do ice, but since I grew up in the US, ice is a normal thing for me. We even went so far as to buy an ice machine. (We can't get water to the wall the fridge sits on.😔) So ppl kinda laugh at me when I go around with cold coffee year-round.

    Mental Health

Hi all, I am 22 years old and I had my gastric sleeve done on June 26th... I've had a really rough time ever since I got surgery, mentally and physically... I question if I made the right decision on doing this? Most of the time I don't feel like eating because I feel nauseous. I take the pills that my doctor prescribed for the nauseous feelings but it seems like it doesn't help. I have no motivation to do anything, I just want to be in bed all day. I cry most of the time thinking about how I have no motivation for anything... I just want to know if anyone else feels like this or has felt like this? What has helped? And when did everyone start feeling better...?

    Thinking about Gastric Bypass

I am over 10 years out. I weighed over 320 pounds and was 5'3" and 54 years old. I have lost 145 pounds (well, 147) . I should have done it many years before.... but it wasn't around then !!! I am not 65 years old. I am still considered overweight - even obese, if one does not count in my age ! But I now weigh between 175 and 172. I am able to maintain that at 65 years old with rheumatoid arthritis and chronic brittle asthma. IF I had plastic surgery I would easily weigh another 15 pounds less, but at my age I have elected NOT to have another elective surgery. I went from a size 28 plus size to now I wear a 14/16 petite. I am incredible healthy - work full time still, organic garden and raise hens for farm fresh eggs ! Eat /drink your proteins. Take your multi vitamins. Eat lots of healthy vegetables of all colors and forms, keep carbs to a bare minimum. Eat enough healthy fats to keep your skin and hair healthy. I did not lose hair after surgery. But some people do. I would suggest following your doctor's diet well, and making sure you eat healthy proteins always first !!!

    Gastric sleeve bariatric cookbook

Hi Lynda, I was thinking you could get it in Michael's if you got a tub of meringue powder, but it is egg substitute, so it probably isn't what you need. I saw that egg white protein in the BariatricPal store, but it may be too large. I also saw some on Amazon. If you don't want to order it online and prefer to shop in person, perhaps GNC or a health food store. Hopefully, you find some! I was thinking of getting that (and also looked at some other cookbooks). Let us know if you make the recipe you wanted to try & how it turns out!

    PS overwhelm

Dr. Cardenas is an excellent plastic surgeon and is quite well known in the bariatric community. Lots of bariatric patients have had her do their plastic surgery. That price for the two body surgeries is much lower than what I paid in Chicago. The facelift piece isn't any cheaper than what you'd pay stateside, though (although maybe less than California prices - I'm not sure). I actually went to a someone who specializes in facial plastic surgery for my face, though (for the body ones I went to someone who specializes in body contouring for massive weight loss patients) Dr. Francisco Sauceda in Monterrey also specializes in massive weight loss patients and a lot of us have used him. I don't know how his pricing is now - when I got an email quote from him, it was very reasonable (I think $16K for all the body stuff (I didn't ask about a facelift)) - but that was four or five years ago)

4 months out. 1. Always cold... I used to keep the heat at 18C ... now it's usually at 21C 2. 67pds down I'm now having to buy new stretchy pants since the old ones are huge on me 3. I'm losing my bum completely... I always thought I was one of those girls who had a Kim K bum naturally... I guess only when I'm overweight. 4. Dark circles are my trademark look. I never had them before but I guess being low on nutrients means dark circles 5. Gatorade and ice cold water go down the easiest. 6. My knees hurt if I don't cuddle a pillow Sent from my SM-G973W using BariatricPal mobile app
