Hi Jed! I was 365 at my highest (which is pretty high for a woman) and I also had the sleeve. A couple of my friends thought I should do the bypass because I had/have so much to lose but my surgeon left it up to me so I chose the sleeve because of the slightly lower complication rate. Surgery was 1 month ago and I’ve lost 61 lbs (38 before surgery and 23 since). The good news about being REALLY overweight is you tend to lose faster than people with less to lose. Good luck to you!!

Nope, I am all set for the sleeve. I've been looking into doing something like this for the last 10 years. I am not real keen on the idea of a bypass.

Oh, I also love the Isopure protein powders: unflavored, dutch chocolate, vanilla (ice cream?), bananas and cream. Then I use something like coffee or tea or even Fairlife FF milk as the liquid. Now that I don't need so much liquid protein, I just use almond milk with it to make green smoothies or matcha or green tea or celestial seasonings tea or decaff.

Thin out the protein drinks with Fairlife Milk. Or as others mention, mix with coffee and tea, make frappacinos out of them. Love bananas and cream in coffee and also love chocolate with SF peppermint torani for holiday coffee, also vanilla or the caramel with sf pumpkin spice torani is remarkable!

Very few people know about my WLS and perhaps it because of the nature of my procedure but I am not too bothered by food smells or those who are eating things that I can't. Obviously I can't expect people to change their eating behaviour but if they did know about my procedure I wouldn't expect them to change what and how they eat. I had the procedure not them. My friend who kept me company for two days after my procedure kept apologising every time she cooked or ate. I asked her not to apologise as it wasn't bothering me, and that was the truth. At work this week we had an afternoon tea for the Melbourne Cup (the horse race that stops a nation lol) on Tuesday, Wednesday was a morning tea for customer service awards, Thursday was pizza lunch to celebrate a milestone in our office renovations. Met with friends for drinks Thursday evening ( water for me) and met a friend for dinner (again I drank water and had nothing to eat). I was in the free liquid stage in the week just gone (today I start pureed foods yeah) and while I didn't partake in any of the foods or alcohol, I was able to celebrate the intentions behind the events. I can only hope my mindset stays the same while I work on changing my attitudes, behaviours and habits that contributed to me being obese.

    Livershrink diet

I lost 15 pounds on my liver-shrink, did it the entire month of August, knew my surgeon found NASH when he examined me in mid-July so I commuted myself to shrink it down. For each week you liver shrink it decreases 2.4% in size so mine decreased between 12 and 15%, and it made it easier for Dr Needleman and less pain for me post-surgery. And I was very proud of ME that I could do it. And you will have your own Pride Moments on your journey, remember not to always judge yours by others, we each make our own kind of 🎶 in weight loss, and it is the Right Song for Each of Us!👈😛👉

I think I really screwed up! *sob*

If it makes you feel any better, I was curious so just for grins I tried the baking soda test myself. I'm post menopausal and have my tubes tied. Guess what? Mine fizzed too. All it does is show the alkalinity of urine and there are many reasons for that, not just pregnancy. Diet is a big one.

    Vitamins - how much exactly

It depends on your surgery. I take 500mg calcium 4x a day A Multi ADEK 3x a day (I use celebrate brand in berry sorbet) 1000mcg of B12 (or one bariatric advantage speedy melt) once a day 29mg of iron 1x a day (chewable bariatric fusion) And 5000 IU of Vitamin D once a day. I had the DS which is much more vitamin heavy than any other surgery. I'm still going to have to ask my doctor about the bariatric fusion vitamins. There's no recommendation on their site for DS, but for the other surgeries is seems like a good option!
