Sorry to hear - I did that once - didn't get sick, but couldn't take another bite - couldn't move - just couldn't do anything but pray, swallow slowly, and hope that it passed (literally) and didn't come back up. It was miserable! No rushing. Always make time for your meal - and don't eat distractedly. I'm reminding ME not you I'm still at risk to do it again! Hope you're feeling better!

    Anxious to start

I'm so anxious to get started. I have an *** so my PCP had to refer me to the surgeon to start the program and monitored diet thing. I had some blood work done and my cholesterol is off the charts ... over 300, my vitamin D is too low, my liver ALT was too high. I'm falling apart. Even my sleep apnea seems to be getting worse. My first intro seminar to the program is in a couple weeks and I can't wait!

Small bites and chew, chew, chew. Ugh, I forgot and the meal ended up in the toilet. Oh well, lesson re-learned. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app

    bad habbits and meds contributing

Oh PoMo , i am without a doubt the very last person who should be answering your post. All the advice you seek is in your post. dont eat every 2-3 hours cut out the sugars increase protein increase water add exercise after the surgery it is all a mental game and you have to commit to winning the mental game or the physcial one is lost. Start by cutting out the sugars then the refined carbs- if its located in the middle of a store it is not a good idea. replace with protien and start walking and dont stop. walk all the time as much as you can whenever you can. drink water pls. If you have to add 0 calorie flavors to help. Last - Dont Surrender come back everyday and lets us know how you did and how far you walked and google wls support for you city and find a grp of local people going thru this so you can feel connected. Just dont give up

    1 Week post-op and failing

You are 1 week from having a very major surgery. everyone heals and recovers at a different pace. Nothing but water is a Must. everything else is a "as you get better thing" When you feel better (not if) cause you will get better with time you will add in the protein and then work thru the rest but your PA was right it is all normal cause normal is a huge range and not everyone gets back to food at the same pace. Relax and work on liquids. dont force anything on a artificial timeline. Every average has people on both sides of that supposed average. Find your own pace and get comfortable with it. listen to your PA and try to enjoy the next part of your life. Dont sweat the small stuff and at 1 week post op if you are not dehydrated it is all small stuff. drink up and enjoy good luck

    Atlanta sleevers

I thought about it and even made videos. I haven’t decided to post them yet. I love the ones that Ive seen and appreciate people being so open and sharing their experiences. However not yet sure if I want to open up my life to the Internet like that.

    Atlanta sleevers

So this was my first surgery ever so I was nervous at first. Also I was a high BMI patient. Once at the hospital EVERYONE was so awesome! When it was time to go home I didn’t want to leave. Once I went to sleep in the OR I don’t remember anything until they wheeled me to my room. Apparently I was in recovery for a couple of hours first but I don’t remember it at all. I really didn’t have much pain. They kept the drugs in my IV going so I’m sure that’s why the pain didn’t bother me. When I left the hospital on day 2 I actually just took liquid Tylenol and ended up not needing the Oxy prescription given to me. My incisions never bothered me either. I had 5 of them. The bigger one had some stitches poke through which I will show the Dr. next week. Now, I did throw up once (with blood) while I was still in the hospital. I’m not sure why other that I tried to get up too fast. I walked every 2 hours and was able to start drinking and eating jello the same evening of my surgery. I took 4 weeks off from work and I needed it. Trying to relearn eating has been a struggle and I have been tired. Had a problem getting all my protein in and still working on that.

    Just left hospital...

Hey everyone! I was discharged today. Surgery was 4/9. I am feeling a gurgling when I sip my fluids... did anyone else feel that with their new tummy?

Oh man my stomach is screwed up

I guess I'm still queezy because I tried having some oatmeal as a snack and it came right up. I'm way behind on liquids. I'm going back to clears only now. Got to let the system recover. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app
