    Hair loss 😪

I would definitely schedule an appointment with your dermatologist. Mine continued to "shed" even with all the right macros and supplements etc. My hair loss slowed quite a bit at one year - but then started again so I talked to my dermatologist, she did a punch biopsy and found out I have LPP (lichen planopilaris) which started/triggered after surgery. Luckily I didn't ignore it just thinking its the standard shedding after bariatric surgery ppl discuss on these forums. My doctor said if it had been, it should have slowed down and stopped by a year -16 months following surgery especially with eating properly. Luckily I caught it early and I'm hoping it won't get bad. At the very least if you set an appointment with your dermatologist you will have peace of mind with a doctor looking you over and confirming its just the stress from surgery causing it. Unfortunately, sometimes the stress from surgeries can set things off in our bodies. Good luck!

    Break-ups 😓

My boyfriend and I broke up over the weekend, and I just wanted to reach out to my bari-family for support 😓 I remember reading loads about how after surgery lots of people found that their relationships broke down for one reason or another, and the statistics around this being quite shocking. Whilst I don't contribute my break-up to my surgery/weight loss, I am struggling at the moment with the emotional side of things following it all. Rather than emotional eating, I am finding that I have 0 appetite at all, I just don't want to eat, I don't want to do my exercise, ugh. But I am also scared of just doing nothing. I don't know guys, I am rambling, but either way , just wanted to reach out to see how others have dealt with this in their own lives. ❤️

    25 years post sleeve.

Thought I would pop in. I had my sleeve done January 2010. When I started my weight loss I I weighed over 300 pounds. 5 ft 2 ; I wouldn’t even go to my doctor at 320. I lost weight before I started officially. So here I am. 68 years old and I have lost the last 10 pounds I had been fighting with over the last two years. I AM LESS THAN HALF MYSELF. I weigh 150. And have for the last 5 months. I wear a size 12 jeans ! And bought size Medium tops. I have never worn a size 12 . Still working full time and take care of my adult daughter who has disabilities. Organic vegetable gardening - and raise hens for eggs. It doesn’t matter how long it takes to be healthy and to have a doctor tell you “ at your age and having excess skin and where you started … you do not need to lose more weight. You are good where you are. “. I know. My bmi could be lower but I am good where I am. Who knew that even existed.

    Break-ups 😓

I always rate what @The Greater Fool says. He is a straight to the point kinda guy. I was a house mouse. Now I am the total opposite. I need nobody but if you want to come on the ride with me then thats fine. My husband has had to adapt and he is not finding the change easy but he will or ..... ? I am the woman I have waited to be all my life. Don't feel bad, give yourself some time to grieve. A loss takes time to get over.

I had a gastroscopy today in preparation for surgery and it showed that I have (a?) gastric polyps. I haven't met with my surgeon yet but apparently this can mean I am not eligible for a bypass, as was the plan, and might have to go for the sleeve. Not sure what to think about that.

    Break-ups 😓

@The Greater Fool Thank you for your response I agree that it can also apply to the relationship we have with ourselves - something I definitely need the time and space to figure out. I do have a therapist who I shall be seeing tomorrow, so I know that will help. It has definitely thrown me off balance but I do agree it is something to get through and to process with time.

    Arm lift recovery time

I am about 6 weeks out from my arm lift. I was cleared Friday to resume normal activities. Today I was at the gym lifting weights, though not yet quite as much as presurgery. Do everything they tell you and recovery should be a breeze!

    Arm lift recovery time

Thanks a million. I think I get a two week sick cert and was then going to do two weeks homeworking and possibly add in some annual leave (seeing as the surgery is instead of a vacation) to not put too much pressure on myself or risk doing too much too soon. I also think I will hire a nurse/aid for an hour or so each day for the first few days, figure it might help ease my family concerns.
