Can we just be for real ???

if im being honest its definitely true for me. I had the same girl since high school show interest in me, and i would never allow her in close to me because i didnt feel i was good enough for her. (thats my own ****). i got the surgery and i finally had the confidence to take her out because of the surgery. and now we are dating and im happier then ever. but i would have never before because i didnt feel enough, even tho she constantly tells me shes not with me because of the weight loss. so yeah i had this surgery to get healthy, but god damn it i wanted to look good too.

Man, I wish I had some good advice for you. I COULD say "well, what kind of friends are they if they don't support you in this" but that doesn't make it any less hurtful. But hopefully some of them are TRUE friends an will support you through thick and thin (😁) and your appearance or eating habits will not affect your friendship in any way. Do you have bariatric support groups near you? That is a great place to meet lots of people who are going through what you are so they will understand the changes, and you may have some new best friends among them. And I know we all can't go out for a (small) bite (byte?) over the computer, but don't forget you have friends here! Come visit often.😘

Before and after. Couple close coaching friends getting ready to do the same thing. Very fortunate that I had good insurance. Had to do the 6 month wait (visit and class once a month) but it was worth it. I was a walking heart attack waiting to happen on Friday nights in the fall. So much energy and adrenaline go into a Friday night.

    Roller Coasters!

That was one of the first things I did also once I lost enough weight. I could go on all the coaster. All the rides really but I passed on the spinning ones, no ty. But the coasters, fun fun fun! I am glad you got to experience them again, enjoy!

This is definitely not a "just". Finding a way to be at your desired weight without having to struggle every day to fight regain is IMO the requirement for long term success with WLS. This is usually a highly individual process, often (mostly?) including some trial and error. What do you think was the reason you went back to "old habits" as you phrased it? Dieting burnout? Emotional eating? Something else? A combination of many things?

Do you know for sure she didn't have any counseling? I'm asking because "counseling" and/or "therapy" are no more magic weapons than WLS itself is. This might not be something people want to hear, but: NO therapy, be it medical or surgical, has a 100% success rate. Why do so many people at least seem to think that WLS simply must have a 100% short and long term success rate if there is only enough therapy and counseling and stick-to-your-plan-advice-from-veterans when it seems to work so poorly without surgery? Do many patients think (despite claiming so often it's not) that WLS is the magic wand that brings the 100% success with reaching and maintaining a normal weight after all for all patients if they only "try hard enough"? I find that hard to believe that people with sometimes a lifelong experience in obesity treatment can be that naive and/or gullible. "You just need to try hard enough" - I guess that's something we've heard too much already throughout the years or even decades. WLS success rates are already extraordinary as they are compared to everything else available, though surgeons and patients often define "success" quite differently.

The cheese is OK. Red meat may work best, but in one study, chicken worked pretty well.

    STALL :(

Yes, they do for sure. Don't let it freak you out- it is totally normal. It is your body adjusting to rapid weightloss. Expect and try to accept stalls as part of your process. (It's hard, I know!) It means you have lost enough weight that your body is taking a pause, but it is not a stopping place. When stalls do happen double check to make sure you are doing the basics like tracking calories, getting enough macros and water in etc. If those things are all on point, try to relax and know that this too shall pass... and you will be moving that scale number lower again before you know it.
