Oh, that has easily been a year. or more. I did my share of research, decided to wait and try with weight watchers (again) for at least 6 months. But once the decision was made it was a no-doubt one. I would seriously suggest to take a couple of weeks, see how it feels for you. Ask around, read up, listen to your heart. It is a irrevocable procedure, and also a life changing one. Are you willing to give up old habits? Do you really feel okay with no more carbonated drinks, careful with what you put in your mouth, never have drinks with your food and so on. You really need that determination, it is not an easy process and there WILL be bumps in the road. Some people have life long problems, others go through it like a breeze, but you will never be the same anymore, that is for sure. Then again, if the decision clicks, and you are no longer in doubt, I would say go for it, and don't forget to enjoy the ride!

    Weight loss avg

Thanks to all of you for the responses! I realize I didn't offer any info on myself. I'm not the most patient person in the world. I am feeling better about things. It's been about a 20lb loss in the first month or so. I kept hearing stories of 50lbs in the first month but never took into consideration all of the variables.

4.5 years, water still an issue!

I have used sugar free mix in to flavor water and have worked up to adding one mix in 32 oz of water. That way the water is flavored but not over sweet. I also drink power aide zero diluted 50/50 with water. I don’t drink carbonated beverages because the bubbles take up space and I end up burping a lot. When drinking fluids, I can take in 5-7 swallows at a time and limit fluids with meals since I can only hold 1/2 cup at a meal (so I usually sip once or twice with a meal) As for amount every day, I get around 64 oz a day. I am coming on my 6th year post sleeve and I have never been able to get 100 oz a day.

Still researching about 6 months but pretty made up my mind with the RNY bypass. There's plenty of information but they say if you need to lose more than 100lbs bypass is best it may be more restrictive in ways. And yes lapband has been known to have issues over the years.. Just keep doing your research

Trouble staying on my pre-op diet

I did a Protein Shake for breakfast and a Lean Cuisine meal for lunch and dinner for a week pre-op. That's what my surgeon asked us to do. It was unpleasant but not terrible.

Trouble staying on my pre-op diet

I think just cutting back to a 1000 calorie diet sounds harder than the 2 week liquid pre op I was made to do (I'm kinda all or nothing). Your diet seems like it would need a lot of will power while limiting real food intake. What kept me on point pre op was the fear of doing anything to mess up my surgery from happening. Do your best, wish I had some tips for you, but I would be struggling just like you. Just know that after surgery you'll be lucky to take in 600 cal a day, that includes protein shakes. Something to look forward to. Stay strong, you can do this.

    Help! Am I CrAzY?!

I would say if you are steady in weight that you might not want to do this? I don't know your BMI but in the Netherlands the minimum for a gastric bypass/sleeve is 35 with co-morbidities or 40 without. If your lap band is giving you problems, you can consider it, but I wouldn't expect too much weight loss after? Good luck either way

    How often to snack???

I was told to have my 3 meals a day and snack 2 times a day once 2 hours after breakfast and once 2 hours after lunch. If I still haven't eaten all of my protein or my calorie goal I can have one at 8pm for bed but most days I find that hard.
