    New Adventures

Today I am 2 months + 1day past my operation. I am down 55 lbs. But this journey is more than just the weight loss. This journey is about rediscovering myself. For the last 9yrs I have hid myself in the roles of being a wife and a mother. The heavier I got, the less I did. I became a bystander to my life. And worse, to my kids life. This surgery has given me my courage back. My confidence. My sense of a adventure. The day I had my surgery I started walking and have not stopped. Today I walked my 1st 5k. And I signed up for 2 more this summer. I cannot believe I am a 5k'er. I went in to this surgery thinking I would lose weight and get healthier. I never considered I would find myself along the way!

Absolutely. Post op now. My doc/nut office only encourages us to listen to our bodies in regards to foods and what to eat. Don't eat just because it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Eat because you're truly hungry. I'm finding my stomach to cramp when I'm hungry. Granted I'm only 5 days out from surgery, but it's definitely been a time for me to learn my cues and listen. My body will change and I'll have more to learn and listen for.

    Surgery tomorrow

Congrats and dont be scared of the gas. I had absolutely NONE! I too was all worried and prepared for the pain because of the stories. I actually had a pain pump and kept hitting the button in anticipation of the gas, lol. Pain meds made me nauseous and after they switched me to percocet, no pain, never had gas, great recovery. Remember that everyone is different, pray for a painless, gasless recovery. See you on the sleeved side [emoji4] Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Feeling uglier

You look pretty good in your profile picture so I'm smh... [emoji848] Maybe the women you're going for are just superficial. You don't want to date a plastic girl anyway.

Thank you. I am the same way, men are looking at me n I look down because I still feel a lil insecure about myself. But I am learning to walk head high. I have been told I am beautiful more in this last couple of months than I have in my life. It feels good. I'm embracing my new self, physically and mentally. My soon to be ex really is toxic n I see now how toxic he was in my life. But thank god for this revelation.

    Total Frustration...

Ok, tell her you thought about what she said about grazing, and realized 6 meals really is more than you need, so 3 meals and a snack is working just fine. As for the book.. Just slog through it, and hopefully by the end there will be a couple memorable stories or examples in it. You just have to memorize those examples (1 or 2), and focus on that. I asked about the reflux for me.. Was wondering how long it takes to show up

I'm one month post-op as of yesterday and I walk at least 4 miles 5 times a week or 10000 steps and I started few days after my surgery.
