I just wanted to share my experience. I was a neurotic daily weigher for about 15 months post surgery. And this far out it's no more honeymoon. For the past two weeks I have not stepped on the scale. I feel much calmer and peaceful. I'm not obsessing about my numbers on scale hence I'm not getting upset as much and having negative thoughts about my WLS journey. These days I have amped my workouts and I can feel my muscles toning. And it motivates me to keep working out harder and eat right.

AWESOMENESS RIGHT THERE!!! Way to take CONTROL!! Both of you are making it a daily life change and believe me that is what helps you to be successful!! I myself had the RNY July 2, 2013. I have maintained my weight of 125#'s for 3 years. I lost 132#'s but did finally gain 8#'s back which was a good thing for me because I looked sick. It isn't the surgery that finishes the journey it is the tool to get us where we need to be!! Good Luck and KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!!

I emailed my surgeon on Friday and dropped by yesterday. The surgeon emailed me yesterday to tell me I was approved and I just have to wait for a date. I will be calling the coordinator tomorrow to check in.

Like the person above me said, I was expecting a November surgery date and FINALLY got a date for march 1st. This whole process varies so much and every program is different. That being said, a lot of the delay was because of my old case worker, since having a new one things have gone pretty quickly. It'll happen! Beg them lol.

    Asking God for direction

I felt very much the same way. I was totally made up in my mind to have to surgery so that's how I took it God in prayer. I wanted it, was scared, nervous and willing to be obedient. I knew I had prayed for so any other things and this surgery was an answer to those prayers. But you know what's going on with you. The feeling of dying on the table is normal and being scared that you will be punished by death is also normal. Like other said. Listen for the holy spirit to guide you and go with it. Nothing makes response more clear than a little fasting and praying. Sent from my iPhone

    Any Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients ?

Hello….I have RA and I'm 2 weeks prep. I stopped my meds 2 weeks ago so it'll be 4 weeks before surgery that I won't have taken my meds. The first couple of days was rough. I could only take tylenol. Since I've started my pre-op diet a couple of days ago it really hasn't been that bad…just stiffness in my hands when I wake up in the morning. I can't start back on my meds until 2 weeks after the surgery. My surgery is scheduled for March 4. I don't regret my decision at all. I'm hoping that once I lose the weight my RA and fibromyalgia will improve. 4 weeks post op I'll let you know how things are going. good luck!
