Hi Donna- looks like you ahve a pic up. I opted to put up an avatar - if you want to do that it is under edit profile and along the left you can pick 'add avatar'

As far as the ticker here is the link Weight Loss - Diet Ticker

once you create it you wil need to copy the code they give you and paste it in your signature line.

Let me know if you need help.

Tomorrow is also my big day. I get banded at 10 am and I am scared to death! I could eat a cow right now but trying to be good and follow orders to stay on liquids today. Can't wait for the new journey and hope to make my husband and kids proud to be seen with me. Good luck everyone and will check back in post op

Thanks, appreciate all the help I can get.

Hey Donna, I think you'll do fine. As far as hunger, I haven't really had any. I've had less than about 500 calories a day and I'm really struggling to get my Protein in. I don't want to FORCE myself to drink anything, but, my calories have been crazy low. But, I haven't been hungry. It's so odd. I don't FEEL like I'm starving or anything. I even went through the food section at Sam's Club and nothing really appealed to me even though all I've had today was an Atkins shake (at that point anyway). I think you'll do just fine! Good luck and let me know how yours goes! :willy_nilly:

I wanted to wish you all luck on your big day tomorrow!:willy_nilly: You all will do great, the surgery isn't that long and before you leave the hospital make sure they give you some pain medicine, that will help on the ride home. I hope you all get some sleep, I was excitied on my surgery day too.

Keep us posted!

Hey there!

My big day is also tomorrow--8:30am. I am also really scared. Here we go!!

Well folks I am sure all will go well for the both of you. Iam scheduled for this Thursday at 10:30. A. M. I am not nervous about the surgery I am nervous about eating afterwards. I am not talking Immidiately afterwards but in a couple of weeks when I actually may feel hungery. I know how my appetite is, As someone stated they could eat a cow, Yep I feel the same way. I just hope that part stops after this is all over. Best of luck Donna

Well I did it!! Lived through it but wished I hadn't a few times today.LOL. I am very sore and so tired.. Surgery would have gone better if I had not had a hiatal hernia that I knew nothing about. That was repaired as well as the lap band placed. No fill until the 29th but really not hungery. I am having a hard time with nausea but the patch works wonders. I hope all of my fellow bandsters are doing well today.

I am so glad that your doing well. I doctor told me about the hernia thing as well, and also told me that he would fix it at the same time if there is one. I kind of suspect that he is looking for one and going to find one. Sort of wierd. I was reading you profile and both of us are about the same I am also 5' 4" and 220. I am just waiting for Thursday and to be done with this. Did you go home or are you staying overnight? I guess I am planning on staying over night. My. S.O. is not overly anxious about taking care of a sick person. :).. Write when you get a chance.. DD

The patch is for nausea and you can wear it for three days..BIG help..felt nauseated but haven't thrown up so far.. I did not stay overnight, it was my decision but I had a 10 year at home sick and my husband couldn't be 2 places at once so I chose to come home. It has been a rough road, worse than I had expected but Im probably gonna live..Can't get my 60 g of Protein in and am really struggling to get my 64 ounces Fluid. I guess right now is the frustration period. My throat and mouth hurt from the tubes..my stomach hurts from the incisions., cant get comfortable and the headaches are horrible..Quit the caffeine as soon as you can to help with this:cursing:

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
