Anyone in water aerobics post band?

I haven't been banded yet and love my Water aerobics class and would love to continue it and my treadmill routine after being banded. Anyone else?

Also, how soon after being banded are you usually able to start exercising again?

Thanks and blessings, Michelle

I'm taking swimming lessons and also do the Water aerobics class twice a week. Every Dr is different - with this said, my Dr didn't release me for exercise, sex, lifting over 15lbs... until I was 4 wks post op. So, I didn't start any real exercising until I was released @ 4wks.

I did lots and lots of walking right after surgery, which the Dr insisted on. I'd suggest speaking with the surgeon before taking the splash.

Have fun.

I started aquafit about four weeks after band surgery without any problems.

I've continued with it for the last year, going about three times a week. I too also did a lot - A LOT - of walking before I started a regular exercise routine, first with a trainer at home and for the last month at the gym.

I now do each of these activities, and much more, and have never experienced any problems related to the band. Lots of muscle soreness and tiredness, but that's all good.
