Fabulous February Bandsters check in

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I posted on the Fabulous February Bandsters Unite! thread on the post op forum, that if there was some interest we could have a check in, maybe once a week, or more, just to see how everyone is doing. It might just be a way for us to keep in touch and stay motivated when the going get rough.

So ...

okay...I went to dr today...I have lost 12 lbs in one month so no fill. :-( I have been experiencing some acid reflux for which is why he denied. I was banded on Feb. 16th and have lost 76 lbs. It's ok. I want to reach 100 - so I can be part of that club by the time my 'bandiversary' rolls around. We shall see. Did I mention I'm a 'spinner'. Addicted to spinning class and recommend it to anyone that can partake! Best to all!

Hi,

The Fabulous February bandsters unite thread is still on the post op forum. I just thought it might be a good idea to start a new thread so people could check in. (I didn't start that thread.)

I'm doing well, too. I have restriction, am staying full longer. I don't know if I've reached my sweet spot yet, so will see how much I've lost when I have my next fill.

I weighed myself and my scale says I've lost 3 more pounds than is on my signature. That makes me feel good, as long as the scale keeps going down!

Hope to hear from more February bandsters!

I was banded on 2/27 of this year. I finally got under the 200s this week. Total weight loss 37 lbs. I feel great. Coworkers and family are totally amazed that I've lost weight and NOT gain it back which was so uncommon for me. I'm hoping that I lose another 20 lbs between now an anniversary date. I'm at 7.4CC with a 10CC band. This month I'm in my green zone as I've lost 6 lbs since last visit.

Hello!!

I struggled for quite a while over the summer and into the fall. Getting fills was horrible and turns out the Fluid wasn't even getting into my band! So I have now had a port revision and two fills and I can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

It was one of those things...I didn't realize how far off track I had gotten until I got back on. I actually can't eat whatever I want anymore....makes it so much easier to make better choices!

I am going to try to go to a local support group this weekend. I say try because they meet at 8am. Seriously? I am so not a morning person but I want to have some friends that have gone through at least some of what i have. I think it makes all the difference in the world!

So anyway YAY! us and keep up the good work everybody!!

Oh and I want to be at the 100lbs mark for my bandiversary too! So I have to lose about 4lbs a week. Not even sure if that is possible but I might just make that a serious goal!:scared2:

Sounds like everybody's doing great. Hard to believe it will be a year in two months! Even though we may struggle, we're in it to win it. Yay for the Fabulous February bandsters!.

Checking in! I'm finally in ONEderland at 199.6.:rolleyes2: Having a little problem with some reflux, but I just got a fill on Monday ( 12/7/09). Hoping this wll stop, as this is the first time I've had this. I'm at 2ccs now and want to try and keep it because my last fill they had to take what they put in plus a little more because I was sliming on Water.

My next fill is Jan 25th and I want to have lost another 10 pounds by then. Fingers crossed!

Hello! So I have now lost more then half of the weight I need to lose until I am at goal. 53 down and 52 to go. I am at 193 right now and would really like to be at 185 by Valentines Day but the weight is kind of at a stand still right now. These last 20 pounds have melted off after a summer of no weight loss. It was a terrible plateau... hopefully the weight loss will kick back in soon! I have an appointment on Tuesday and I am toying with the idea of getting another fill... I hope everyone had a great Christmas and/or any holiday that you may celebrate!

Hi February Fabulous Finds - I know not very clever. Anyway, I had appt with my dr 1/7 but had to move it to the week of 1/26 or so. I've lost about 85 lbs since last Feb. 16. I'm thrilled - yes, wish it was more! I'll take it. I hope to still get close to 100 by Feb. 16 but not likely to be more than 90 ish. Again, I'll take it. I have at least 15-20 to my first goal and honestly, I'd like to try for 40. We shall see. Best of luck to all - hope you are doing well!

Hi all,

Well, I made it through the holidays without going crazy, which is amazing considering all the things I could have eaten.

Today one of my coworkers said she had to do a double take. "You're really shrinking!" she said, which made me feel great.

I haven't weighed myself, so I guess the real test will come when I go for my next fill. But my clothes tell me I'm headed in the right direction, and there's much less of me--I actually fit comfortably in the back of a cab with two other people!

Hi Feb. bandsters,

It has been quite a year of weight loss. Yeah! It was tough getting to a restriction level but after the second fill in Sept it has been downhill. I have reached 60# lost and 27 inches. I am a little over halfway and hope to reach my goal by Dec 2010.

Want to hear from more of the February Bandsters

Checking in... My surgery was 2/2/09. On 2/2/10 my weight loss was 109 lbs. I never had restriction until this last fill so most was done with willpower. I feel great. Hope you all feel great also

Tomorrow is my bandiversary and I go for a fill on Thursday, so I'll find out if I've lost anything. I kind of doubt it and I'm hoping this next fill will help. I do have restriction, but I'm definitely not at my sweet spot. I still think getting a band is the best thing I could have done for myself.

Debbie

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
