My husband went golfing today, so I used my alone time to take 'before' photos (quickly upload them, email them to myself and delete them from the computer AND the camera). OMG. Sad - shocking - depressing.... but it's a beginning (RIGHT?).

It only gets better from here.

How much weight is everyone wanting to lose?

I am hoping for 150lbs

I hope to lose about 90 pounds! I know it won't be easy, but man I can't wait to start!

I am scheduled for December 14th. My doctor hasn't said anything about a liquid diet, but I decided to do it anyway, 2 weeks prior to surgery. I actually tried to do it today and yesterday but at night, I ate both days. I am really struggling, it seems that I have been going crazy with food since I learned I was approved. I know that the band is not a miracle, so I really need to work on my willingness to make this life change. It is not my first time around, 11 years ago I had RNY. I am hoping that this time I will make the kind of lifestyle change that I need to in order to really succeed. Good luck everyone.

I definitely want to lose 125, but I think another 25 would be my all time goal.

Does anyone have anything they plan on doing once they lose the weight?

I plan on going into Victoria Secrets and buying a bra! Sounds corny, but I have never been able to buy a bra from them and I want that experience.

I'd love to drop 150 and ultimately 180

Victoria Secrets is on my to do list

as well as:

horse back riding on the beach

riding a roller coaster

wearing shoes with higher than 1 inch heel

wearing a swimsuit without a skirt on it!

Riding a roller coaster is a good one. Dh always hates that I wont go with him, but I just cant break down and tell him the real reason I dont want to go.

Wearing a bathing suit at all. I usually just wear a tshirt and shorts.

What's funny about that is... my daughter's roommate, Lindsay, works at Victoria's Secret (they're cute and tiny and 22). And my daughter informed me JUST TODAY that she'll be working with Lindsay on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving... and what do I want from Christmas from there? "Ummmmmm... how 'bout lotion. Don't they have some reallynice-smelling lotions there."

Yes. I would love a cute matching bra/panty set too. Maybe next Christmas.

:unsure:I am also a December 10th band candidate--I say candidate because I am afraid that if I have adhesions I won't be banded. Has this happened with anyone you know? I am very nervous because I am spending so much money out of pocket--my insurance will cover gastric bypass but not the LAP-BAND®--and feeling alittle guilty because the money could be going into my house remodeling. I feel a little selfish. I am trying to focus an the outcome. I am following Atkins induction and have to start liquids--protein kind--11/26. I am also enjoying my last month of Diet Coke:tt2:. It is amazing to me that I have lost 12# in the last 10 days!

Add me to that list - no it's not crazy to want that experience. I want to shop at Victoria Secret too - that is one of my goal rewards that I have planned for myself. We can do it - one day at a time. Praying for you and will be on your big day!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
