OK...long story short...

I hiccup almost everytime when I am done eating.. what gives? Does this mean I am full or ate too much? does this happen to anyone else?

I do the same but it is when I have eaten too fast. Sometime I do it after two or three bites from eating too fast. That may not be why you get them but it is why I get them.

Also when I get them they hurt. They are really bad hiccups not normal ones. Is that how yours are?

Yeah, I had that too.

It went away. I can't remember the last time I had hiccups now. Well, OK, I guess it was probably Julyish. LOL

That is one of the signs of being full my surgeon told me to watch for. Sometimes it is just one hiccup. I get the hiccup well after I am full and stop eating though, so I don't use it as a full signal.

I would call mine "Longshoreman Belches". They are so loud and unexpected that I am embrassed by them. So far, I've been at home when it happens. I'll be glad when they go away!!!:)

My surgeon told me that could be my "sign" that I am getting full too. I get the hiccups quite often regardless of what I eat. My co-workers told me they wish they would get a sign that they were full because obviously they wouldn't be overweight if they got a sign. LOL!

I once scared a small child with the loudest hiccup I had ever encountered during the start of week 3 post surgery! I didn't know it was coming - it just came out.

Slowing down, taking MUCH smaller bites and chewing much more has meant these have just about gone away for me. I still get the occasional "indigestion" feeling when I begin eating sometimes but that apparently goes away too and is just another reminder to do the above right from the beginning of a meal.

oh I get them too and aways wondered - I don't get "burpy" like some people get though...

I guess I'd rather be "hiccupy" then burpy, lol

I'm so happy to hear I'm not the only hiccuper!! Mine get violent. And when I get them...I know it's not good. For me, it can't be full. Because I've gotten them soon after starting to eat. I contribute them to eating too fast and possibly not chewing enough (bites too big). Mostly I wait for them to go away (but they hurt). But it has brought on sliming and even regurgitation (ick). So when I get those hiccups...I know it's not a good sign!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
