So I have been on a really strick diet for the past 4 or 5 months and I have done really well. I quit drinking soda, stopped eating sweets and snack foods like chips and fried food and I eat much smaller portions. I have lost like 40 lbs. I was excited when I got my surgery date which is Oct the 2nd and I started my pre op diet of protein shakes twice a day and 4 oz of protein and veggies for dinner. I dont get it, I did so well dieting for all this time and now that I "have" to diet I slipped up already. I had a little bit of sourdough with my dinner the other night and I had about two cups of popcorn while watching a movie with my daughter. I cant believe I have already "cheated"! I have been on the pre op diet since the 17th and I have only lost 2 lbs! Could this really be because of having a little bit of bread and some popcorn? Have I totally messed up? I read on the boards how people loose significant amounts of weight while on the pre op diet... how come i'm not? I have one more week until surgery so I will stick to the diet and see how much more I can loose. Do you think because I have already been dieting I am not loosing as much as others on the diet? Im kinda concerned.
