Okay! So I gained 7 lbs last week eating this delicious home-made muscadine jelly that I made from muscadines that my Dad picked! Oh, the horror! I can't eat bread so i decided to try it on club crackers, & yes, it was delicious! So, I vow to not eat any more of this %*#$*#^$ jelly! OMG! I hope I can do this! I've never had record breaking weight loss, but I have never gained either!

I... GAINED... 7... LBS... IN... 1... WEEK.....!!!

10-16-05 update

Since I cheated the first night, I am 5 days with no sugar at all! & I've lost 9 lbs!

13 days since I had my caffeine....so if you walk by me sipping a mocha...prepare to feel the wrath of a man on the edge.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH!

Whew! I feel better now. Keep up the good work, y'all!

My husband came into my office about 20 minutes ago with an open can of black olives.... I LOVE BLACK OLIVES!!!!! but, thanks to this thread, I turned the pernicious food away and banished the evil one from my domain.

Day 4...

Okay I'm in. Since I am off to Mexico to visit my inlaws in 34 more days and I want to lose at least 20lbs more before then, I am going to give up refined sugar (is that what it's called like chocolate of things sweetened with sugar but not like natural stuff like fruit? ) Actually, forget it, this is already making my brain hurt. I will give up candy (easier to define) for 30 days!!! Good thing I just finished that Butterfinger, tomorrow will be day 1.

I gave up chips and salsa the first of October. I love them, but they were really getting the best of me. I haven't had any since the 1st, even though we had Mexican on Saturday. I have to admit, I picked up one and dipped it, then I actually handed it to my DH. Whew, that was a close call! If I ate the first one, I would have definately had a whole lot more!

Hmmmm...OK Betty- I'm starting to get the hang of this post thing, And I've gathered much of the shorthand. I understand LOL, and PB, and a few others...but I see "DH" a lot. I bet that stands for DEVOTED husband, or DEAR husband, or Dedicated husband...

Right? RIGHT?!?

Have a splendid day with your DH.

Jon (Kristin's very DELIGHTFUL husband!)

Day one of no chips/crackers, and I caved at 9pm!! I'm so mad and disappointed with myself...

Went to the store yesterday to get dinner stuff and grabbed a bag of potato chips because I needed an easy side for my visiting niece and nephew. I thought "oh, I'll be able to resist". Because I'm taking this 30 day thing seriously, I really am!!

Anyways, at about 9pm my DH and I were watching tv when in walked my 2 year old daughter. She had Water running down her face from her soaked hair. I quickly deduced that it had come from a dixie cup. Which she had dipped into the toilet downstairs. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!! Granted, the toilet had been cleaned that morning, and it was flushed, but still! She's so cute, and I love her to death, but she came seriously close to being sold to the gypsies last night...

So anyways, I caved on my very first day. Pathetic! My first thought after I cleaned her up was to grab the bag of chips and eat until the pain stopped me.

I'm starting over today. DH finished the chips, and I'm not bringing anymore into the house.

I MUST STOP THE EMOTIONAL EATING!!!!!

*grumble* Poor DeLarla doesn't feel good and she's still not drinking soda. I've got no excuse!

I am going to earn my chip for exersize. I am going to say that I will do 4 days a week. I joined the gym last Tuesday and worked out Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I did not do Friday because I had a horrific day at work and decided I didn't have to go. My boyfriend laughed at me because I actually had a conversation with myself that I should go and it would make me feel better, but I didn't. Yesterday and I had a pounding headache, which I think is a pretty valid reason for not going. I can still get 4 days in this week also.

So today will be day 1 in abstaining from laziness.

Penni, I can host those images on my webspace if it will be helpful. I don't know how much bandwidth it would pull for those little things to be on the signatures, but if it doesn't go over what I'm allowed in the month, I'm cool with howevermuch it takes, my website is mostly for personal use anyway, no one really looks at it, lol.

OMG, black olives, green olives - any olives! I could live on them!

I'm on liquids for a few days, and it sucks. As far as hating me loving me hating me loving me, hell, it's my badass friends that get me through the toughest times. This isn't a time for cooing or coddles, this is serious. I'm afraid to drink a Coke now! Time to go Water down some Water for a lovely treat.

Ohhh - today is day 5 - and now that I have informed my Beloved that I have made a committment to cease any food activities after 9, he has promised not to come into my office bearing anything other than herbal tea. What a man.

Lisa, you can do it. If you don't, my foot is waiting to connect to your butt.

Day 1 was a no go for me. I went to bed about 2am this morning, and ate a Butterfinger at 1:30am. Then tonight I made an apple crisp and ate a piece with some ice cream. Tomorrow is another day, and it might be day 1 of no candy. We'll see.......l

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
