Who Wants Some Chips?

Recommended Posts

Oh you naughty little Bandsters! I am not talking about potato chips, corn chips, fried chips or chocolate chips!

Here's a new fun thread that we can all use. I'm looking for volunteers to create Virtual Chips that we can put in our signature line after we EARN THEM. I think Trish is good at creating all those cute computer diddies, so can those of you creative with the computer "create" some virtual chips and post some samples here for us to vote on?

In AA, you get a 30 day chip if you don't drink booze for 30 days. It's a little plastic chip for your keychain. You get another after 60 days, 90 days, 3 months, 6 months, a year, etc. You get the same chips in OA (Overeater's Anonymous) for abstinence. For example, my big problem right now is sugar and soda. I haven't had any for 3 days, so in another 27 days I'll have earned my 30 Day Chip.

WHO ELSE WANTS CHIPS?

Post your starting date, your abstinence and the number of days you have. If you stick to your plan for 30 days, you can add a chip to your signature. This is based on honesty.

Here are some abstinence suggestions:

Three meals a day, no Snacks.

No sugar.

Exercise 5 times a week (abstain from laziness)

No Carbs

No Booze

No Caffeine

I'll start:

Lisa, abstaining from sugar and soda, currently on Day 3.

No, no, no, Pinky. We aren't going to rewrite the rules. There's no such thing as a 10 Day Chip. Oh, you'll get lots of encouragement and support, but the object is to let go of our addictions so we'll benefit by losing weight. Just do it one day at a time. Look at me, I'm on DAY THREE of no soda! All I gotta do is get through today.

Ten days isn't enough to see actual weight loss on a scale.

I really had to think about it but I will give up Cheetos for 30 days. They have been my weakness since getting the band. I guess it because they are easy to eat. I haven't had any in 3 days as well. Just got a fill and want to make it work this time!

I'd be willing to make some "chips" for your voting purposes. They'll be simple, but I'll volunteer for the cause.

Give me until tomorrow night and I'll some samples for you.

Looks great Rene!! Once we achieve the 30 day goal, how do we put them on our signature line? I can't even figure out how to put my picture on!

I think we will have additional entries.... and once everyone votes, we will ask Penni to help us out with the technical aspects.

Seriously - getting them into my post was an achievement test for me.

:]

Hey, don't they have, like, 10 day chips in real life? I'd shoot for (3) 10 day chips for no Cheetos.

Hell, I'll attempt a 30 day chip, but you guys BETTER clap for me at my 10 day intervals. I need lots of encouragement. Is that too needy?

Whew. I gotta go to bed. I can't believe I'm about to hit the Submit button on this crap. I'm getting mouthy and whiney and I can't have cheetos, either. ;) good night!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
