My First NSV!!!!!

Recommended Posts

:) Well, it finally happened, I have my first NSV to post and for me it's a big one:

I went to the doctor today for my usual check up. For the first time in over two years my blood pressure was normal 100/70! And that's after I had cut the prescription down from 100mg twice a day to 50mg once a day, that was the cardiologists orders. I can't believe in this short of time, 2 months, that I have had that kind of reaction in my body. Also I went from 30U Humolog(Insulin) three times a day down to 10U three times a day!! I am so encouraged and I just wanted to share this with all of my friends her.

How wonderful!!!! Your body likes your weight loss, huh? Think you could be off meds altogether as you lose more? In other words, is your diabetes from childhood or is it weight related? I think those are great NSV's. Yay your band!!!!

My diabetes is type II - weight related with a familial history. I know that by exercising and loosing the weight it won't be long before I am of insulin altogether, so be looking for more NSV's from me!!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement!!!

Thanks to all of you, you are all so awesome and supportive. I am addicted to this board and since I discovered it, I have really, really turned by head around and am improving day by day with my diet and exercise. You all inspire me and hopefully I can return the favor. I love all of you!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
