Good Morning

LOL - after I ate 1/2 box of Cookies I passed out, then my dd who I did not want to her friends house last night but went anyway, called at 11:30 and woke me up because she didn't have an inhaler and couldn't breathe. and I've been up for an hour. Its all good.

I'm hanging drinking coffee working on class already again. It is going to be a long day but I'll be done tonight with catch up and final for my OSHA.

Anyone up to anything good today???

My day is about as exciting as yours. I also spent most of my hours working yesterday, but at least I was sitting at a Starbucks doing it. I am leaving in the next hour to buy my mom a housecoat and RETURN to a Starbucks to work some more. Then, however, I get to eat my daddy's tasty, fried fish. My life is quite boring right now. At least yours is exciting with the prospect of doing something new. But dang, girl, I don't know how you keep up with kids and all that. I may have to make and send you a big S to put on your shirt for Superwoman.

My life is pretty dull as far as social status, but I hope to get caught up so I can breathe.

I'm going to go out and sit on the deck today, it is cloudy so I'll be albe to see my monitor. Once caught up I'm going to get back to the elliptical so I don't feel so lazy.

I'm on overload to tell you the truth.

The the elliptical is definitely the way to go. It will help you relieve the stress of all of this. Last year when I had the student who tried to attack me, everyone told me (including my principal) to go to the doc and get meds to deal with it. Instead I went to the gym and would stay on the elliptical for an hour each time. It helped and kept me med free. NOW, if I would just go BACK to the gym, it would be great, but alas, my big butt is sitting in this chair.

LOL that is so me, I'm on meds, I need them, but... to deal with the stress of bad break up and life, I started walking last year, was up to 6 miles a day plus the elliptical. It is good for mental state.

But... I feel same way while I'm getting caught up all I do is sit on my big butt too, I'll be glad when today is over so I can get up and move.

no way will I have time to get to the gym until emt class is over:frown:

Good morning sunshines

Cindy, just fyi ... Jenn is my hero. She has had some rough times the past few years and she has completely turned herself around, is striving for AND achieving her goals. I am proud to call her my friend. :w00t:

We go to Grand Casino Coushatta in Kinder LA. It is a huge place and we love it there!

With the way things are going it may take a month or even 2 before we can go though. We are pinching pennies right now. I am ecited just knowing this will happen though.

Jenn-please do not out-do yourself. If you put yourself in overload you may just fall apart. Please take it at a good pace. I worry about you!

Angela-I am so sorry about your house! That sucks. How far of a drive is it? I wanna load up and go with ya one day! We can bring my shy daughter. LOL I hope you know I was only joking about the go both ways. I was laughing WITH, not AT. :tt2: It WAS funny though. :tt1: What do you have planned today? I hope Mike is off today. Does he work weekends alot?

Kat-I know it is early but has Kinsey said anything about what she wants to be for halloween? I think Macy wants to be a witch again. Remember how cute she looked with the green makeup?

Debbie-are you OK?

Michelle-I would like to see some pics too. I love watching small kids play sports! It is too cute! How often are her games and practices. So you are an official 'soccer mom' now?!

Shar-hope you have been making better food choices. I did yesterday and my prayer is that i do well again today. I need to get back to the -11 I was at before. I canm do this....God knows I did it before!

Suzanne text me last night and said that she and her husband stopped to eat in Oklahoma and decided to go ahead and drive home since it was just four more hours. So, she is prob fast asleep in her own bed right now.

I need to refill my coffee cup. I will talk to ya'll later.

Thanks for worry - I'm good, I just need to get past today and get things finished up and I'll be fine. I should have finished this OSHA class 2 weeks ago and just fooled around instead, my own fault. - although I didn't need the Cookies last night. LOL

Morning girls.

We are Home. Oh it feels so good. Missed my bed and pillow and the kitties have followed us everywhere. Darrell headed to the garage a little while ago and they got really upset, thought he was leaving again.

We did make it to Muskogee with the intention of spending the night there. So we went to a really good BBQ place to get something to eat and we talked about how we were only 4 1/2 hours away from home and that we could be walking thru our front door by 8:30pm. So off we took. Darrell drove and I napped. When we got to Carthidge Mo. I took over driving. By the time we got to K.C. it was storming like crazy, helped washed some of the bug juice off the front of the van.

Thank You so much Kat, Terri, Tracy and Angela. I really wished we could have spent more time with you guys, but I will take the few hours that I got. What a true treasure it was. Memories to last me forever.

Michelle, when my nephew was about 7 he started playing in the football league here. The videos are so funny of those little boys. What cracked us up was that the boys would all be running down the field chasing the kid with the ball and here would come Luke, skipping along. It was too funny to see. I love those memories. Enjoy all of their games.

Ok, off to the store. Today is Darrell's birthday and he wants a meatloaf and mashed potatoes and gravy. Besides, it's our first home cooked meal in 3 weeks.

Good morning!

I am not ashamed to say that I just woke up!

Tracy, I would love for you guys to go. I thought about you yesterday as I was driving down. I didn't have any idea I was going to until yesterday morning when Mike and I got to talking about the rain (it's a five hour drive round-trip!). The next time we go, you guys need to come. It's a really fun place!

I think Cindy is right. The flashing was one of the first "fixes" that we had done. We are now thinking it was done incorrectly though. Has to be...

Mike is at work again today. This time of year is what I call shutdown season. He works more weekends than not. I hate it. I admit that the first couple of weekends are ok because I actually get some deep cleaning done around here but after that I really hate it! Ah well...we are blessed with jobs. I know many without  .

Happy birthday Darrell!!!

Suzie, I am so glad you guys made it home safely! I really enjoyed your visit as well!!!!

Cindy- to weekend work!! I would be at Starbucks too! How was the game last night? The only thing on around here was the Texas-Texas Tech game. Zach is a huge Longhorn fan. It was a good game! He loves LSU as well and that is his second choice. I haven't heard him mention the score yet though...lol.

Michelle, how was the game?

Jennifer...add me to your list of admirers! Keep on pushin' through! I am super proud of you too!!

Where the dickens is Kat...Debbie....Shar??

We have monkey bread in the oven. Because we need it? Nope. I am trying new recipes and this was one of the bad...but oh so good ones (I hope) that I wanted to try. My house smells very good right now!

Boy, do I need a fill!! I am thinking next week some time. Having no fill I have really taken advantage of getting...make that allowing myself to eat bread.

All of my work pants are too tight. Why do I keep eating this way? I AM my own worse enemy :tt1: .

I am making some yogurt/ Panko bread crumb baked chicken for dinner. Maybe I can redeem myself yet!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Angela

Hey y'all~

We are home, not supposed to be, but we are. We did the fair, had a blast, bought me a new hide---huge kinda triger striped cow hide, going on the wall I think. Anyway---we ate, drank beer, had fun, then about 4 I got a headache, took ibuprofin, as it was all that was available. Did not touch it, by 8 my stomach was rolling, and we headed home, not to the motel, but like Suzie----home! I threw up all the way home....yuck!

Thank goodness we did, I hurt everywhere, even places I didn't know I had. My head is still hurting, and even the thought of eating makes my stomach heave. Slight fever, but I am sitting here in long pants (jammies) long sleeves, socks, and a blanket. I don't know wth hit me. Glad to be home, not 200 miles away.

The LA trip------um I will be nearby the 2nd week of November. We are supposed to meet up with our LA kids, but I might sqeeze a day or 2 away......just a thought. Do it whenever you can....just me butting in!!

Suzanne, I am so glad you had a great vacation, you both totally deserve it. Did I read today was Darrells birthday? Well happy birthday Darrell!!! Rick said in honor of your birthday he will drink beer and watch the game, he wouldn't otherwise ya know!!

Gotta go lay down, will catch up in awhile.

(in my best southern twangggg) OH HEYULL NO!! Do not even think you are coming so close to me and not seeing me. Negative....ain't gonna happen. Tell Rick he just has to deal with it if he doesn't wanna stop and see me. LOL Even if it is just to meet for lunch on your way through....

That is a direct order.:tt2:

I wish they had the little emoticons that had 2 snaps in a circle....lol

I am so excited. You know, we can make this happen. OOOhhhhh, I am excited! Just think....I just got to meet Suzanne & Darrell, now I will get to see Cindy and her dh AND Angela and Mike and then to throw Kat & Rick in for good measure? OMG....i will not be able to sleep. Good times  Anyone else wanna come?

Kat, it would be great if we could plan it around the time you are here. That would be fun if you could sneak away on the 6th maybe, hmmmm, maybe???

Tracy, where do you stay when you go to the casino? It looks really expensive. I may have to save all my tutoring money.

Hey everybody,

It feels so good to say that I don't eat the way I should and know that y'all understand. My meals have been healthy, it's the stuff in between that's crap. (How many calories in M&'M's?)

I went to a memorial service today for a former coworker and friend. She drove me to work for 7 years, and went above and beyond what a human resources director should have.

There were sandwiches, broccoli, potato and Pasta salads, and chocolate cake, carrot cake, which I don't like, red velvet cake, and a white cake, all home made. I had the chocolate. It was fan freakin' tastic!

I loved reading about the last part of your trip, Suzie. Like just about everybody else, I wish I could have been with you all, it does sound like fun. And the comments about the pics? Hmmm!!

I don't want to be too much of a downer, but I was feeling just a little anxious, I guess before the memorial, and now that it's over, I'm better. I still have to deal with my feelings around my brother's cancer. And I need to get my butt in gear and find somewhere to play. I need money! I can pay my bills, but I don't have much after that, and that sucks.

But all of you are awesome; I can't tell you how much it means to me to feel a part of this fantastic group of women--and man! Becoming a part of this thread was the best thing I could have done for myself.

Michelle, your doctor's appointment is tomorrow, isn't it? Let us know how things go. And I'm truly sorry that your sister has had to deal with the things she's gone through. I will keep her, and you, in my thoughts.

Jenn, Kat, Tracy, Cindy, Shar, take care of yourselves! Angela, I'm sorry to hear about your house. That's got to be overwhelming.

Plain, how ya doin'?!

Debbie

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

    • LeighaTR

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
