Any November 2009 Bandsters??

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone ever has a fairly easy post op. A minimum of pain, not much of a gas problem, not to much discomfit. Or is it always a couple of days of "torture" Not quite, but you know what I mean. My procedure is Friday, and its just hitting me.

Mark

I was banded on o the 13th. Went in at 8:30 was in my room by noon. I spent the night there because I got weak and had some nausea at night. I did not have much pain did not have to take the pain killers prescribed. Gas is uncorfortable but by day five they are mostly gone. You must walk, walk, walk. I also burped a lot and it made me feel better. I am a big Cry Baby and it has been a lot less painfull than I anticipated. Hope everything goes well with you. If you have any questions just ask.

Good Luck.

Welcome Rozi, I was banded on the 18 and have only lost 2 pounds. I'm a little disappointed. I'm walking for an hour everyday since i got out of the hospital and eating under 400 calories a day (I still on clear liquids). I have my post op appointment tomorrow. I'm hoping their scales tell me something different. When do you start mushies? I have a blog if u want to check it out. Lap Band-It Girl

Take Care

Ok. I need some support. It is five days after surgery, and I am STARVING. I was ok until now, but I swear as I've moved around more today, my body is screaming for food, and not at all happy with Soup and shakes. I really hope I can make it until mushies on Dec 3rd...

Hi Jen I too got banded on 11/18 and am also going to start on mushies on Dec 2 so we are almost on the same path. I am 38 and am so new to all this. Where did you have your surgery at? I had mine in Richmond ca. I am struggling with the amount of restriction I have, I think I may have too much. Last night I had pudding and I was bent over in pain and couldnt sleep I felt as if I was going to get sick and kept choking. weird, huh? I am also always hungry though I cant seem to work this band.

I'm a excited newbie  I was banded on Nov 12 and I am doing really good. I didn't have much pain but of course struggling with mental hunger. I think that this will be the hardest part to change. My mind. Started walking this month and now I do a couple miles a day. Hope to keep it going when winter comes. Thanks for sharing everyone it helps me a lot to hear what other people are going through. See you all around I hope.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
