Does anyone have IBS that is already banded??

I am currently waiting for my first appointment... but i am wondering if the lap band helps IBS symptoms? Since i have gained so much weight in the last 2 years i have developed IBS and I am really hoping if this can help with the problem. Just curious if anyone has experienced this problem?
