Good morning, Violets..

Had a great day shopping yesterday. I made a dent in the Christmas shopping.. at least for Ethan!

I'm off to get ready for church. I see a long nap in my future today. It's 47 and dark outside. Typical Fall morning.

The Bobster got his stitches out yesterday and everything has healed nicely. He can bend his finger without too much pain, so that's a very good thing considering the tendon was cut. Now he has no excuse left to not help with yard work..

Everyone have a great day!! Be good to yourselves.

Good afternoon, Violets..

Just finished lunch and now waiting for Kris and Nathan to arrive with Grady. it was World Wide Communion day in church today and the pastor asked me to help serve the choir. It was intinction, dipping the bread in the cup, and I had never helped with that before. He neglected to tell me I was to serve him and then serve the servers so I looked bewildered up in front of everyone. I don't remember being the "go to" Communion person. Seems to me he should be able to do it himself or at least let me know what's going on sooner than 5 minutes before services. grrrrrrrr The more I go there, the less I feel I belong there anymore. Sad, sad, sad after 25 years there.

I'm going to go out and stock up the birdfeeders and then head to bed after Kris and Nathan leave. I NEED a nap!!!

Thought of a movie last night. What About Bob? When Bill Murray runs into the cafe and dumps his fish into a pitcher!! Loved that!!! In Big when Tom Hanks pulls his key to his apartment out of his tuxedo tied around his neck with a string? What about in Forrest Gump when Bubba Gump asks Forrest 'Ever been on a shrimp boat?' and Forrest says, 'No but I have been on a big boat'!! The crazy things one remembers from movies!!

Good afternoon by the way!!

Ahhhh... finally a chance to take a break & put up my feet! Have a pot roast in the crocker, pumpkin muffins in the oven, and a vodka-fuze in my hand... windows open, Fall breeze coming in... delightful! I hope everyone else is enjoying the afternoon as well! Peace!

Good afternoon, Violets..

Just up from a nice, long nap. Apparently it rained while I was sleeping. The sun is out now, but it's only 52, so pretty chilly. It sure looks beautiful out, though.

I have Bob's cold.. well, not as bad as he had it, just a raspy throat. Hopefully all will be back to normal in time for the Peace Concert on the 11th.

Grady has a cold too. He was here for a little while this afternoon. His daddy stayed with him while his Mommy went shopping and Gramma napped. The Bobster and son Joe watched the Lions and Tigers.........oh my! The Lions lost, as expected, and the Tigers won. Now the Tigers will have a one game play off for the division title. They are not picked to win, unfortunately.

Laura.. saw on Facebook that you are sick. Hope you get better soon. Not fun with a little one to take care of, but at least you have your Mom close to help out, plus of course Russell.

Off to figure out what kind of Soup to fix for dinner. I need something warm on my throat.

Home from a wonderful trip!

We had a BLAST! The park was full of gay folks, but not only...pretty funny. Gay folks were wearing red, and the poor bible thumpers that showed up all in red (to keep track of each other) were in for a shock. We were at the park from 10am-10pm...and were plum tuckered when we got home. Had a GREAT room at the Sheraton, although we were not in there long. Just got home from a book seach, Breakfast and Nike store (yes again).

Disney is about 100 miles away. Took the BMW which has the nav system...which is great cause it helps us avoid the traffic jams, etc.

The book search is for a book called, "PUSH" by Sapphire. She is an African American poet who wrote the original book, PUSH that was now adapted for the movie called, Precious. This is gonna be an amazing and powerful movie, Oprah is producing it. It is about an overweight 16 year old who is pregnant with her second child and the "baby daddy" is her father! The first child, she had when she was 12 is called "Little Mongo" because he is a Mongloid child. Precious is repeatedly abused both physically and sexually; is overweight; and is hardly alive. Mariah Carey is the shrink who works with her. The book stores are out of the book (I went to two today, and my friend went to 3 this weekend)...but I got in from Amazon and it was only like 8 bucks. Push is the original and Precious (book title) is the adaptation from the movie (which wont be out for a couple of weeks still).

Precious (2009) - Movie Info - Yahoo! Movies

Watching football, grading Walden papers and gonna make a pork loin later...life is good! Oh yeah, we are opening up some windows and doors in a bit, still too warm, but the evening will be loverly!

xoox

Judy those pics are adorable, I keep meaning to call the studio to ask what to bring.. he was naked and we didn't have to bring anything for newborn, but now what??? I don't have cowboy hats lol.

I think it's a cold, but I was faint and then nauseated at one point today, hope it's flukey..and not flu-ey! Har har.. eh.

Carson weighs 200lbs when weak and sick. Russ bathing him now, he was at moms last night, I started getting sick yesterday.

Michelle got the postcard, I'm still jealous

Going to go wait for C to get out of bath so I can put him to bed. I don't know how he could not get it, but I am hoping he doesn't get whatever I have. I feel so crappy.

Natural Born Killers... I told Russ I DLed it, he said 'its a good movie' and I said 'after I DLed it, I saw someone said it's like terentino movies--and you know I HATE his movies' and russ goes 'oh no, it's not like his movies at all' LIAR.. LIAR LIAR... So the first 5 minutes I go "uh this is EXACTLY terentino'ish'.. and he is holding back a grin and he goes 'yeah it's his movie'. Sigh. Was a LONG 2 hours. I HATE his style of movies, in fact NBK would be an ok movie if it wasn't in his style, all the random weird crap.. makes me feel like I need to be on acid to enjoy it or something. So no, didn't like it..

Judy -- Grady is ADORABLE!! So cute!! Hope you feel well soon.

Laura -- Hope you feel better quickly! Nothing's worse than being sick when you're a Mom, too. Lots of liquids & rest!!

Pam -- The gays & the thumpers both in red... LOL! That's what we do when we go... 12+ hour days... we call it our "Disney Commando" mode! But adrenaline gets us through (& lots of Mickey ice cream bars!)!

Another busy week on tap... off to get into my pj's & doze off to the tv... g'night!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
