Potatie starts her PS journey

Hi Everyone, Thank you to all of you who have gone before me and shared your expirences. Now I am excited to begin my own journey.

I was approved today from my insurance company for a panniculectomy, mons lift. I am going to pay out of pocket for an upper abdominalplasty. I will be staying 1 night in the hospital.

I was also lucky enough to be able to schedule my surgery as well. So the count down to Friday November 6, 2009 begins. My pre-op will be on October 20, 2009.

So my question to everyone out there is do you think that I will be able to go back to work after 4 weeks? I mainly have a desk job and where can you rent a lift chair?

Hi Everyone, Ok So I decided to be brave and post my pre-op pictures. These are not the ones that the doctor took. Those are too revealing.

Katie:

You're so brave! I'm sure you're going to get great results.

Don't forget to buy some new cute panties for December. You won't want to wear them until you're done with all of the drainage. Panty shopping was a fun thing to do while waiting for the big day. And after the tummy excess is gone you can actually see the panties !

I'd have to say that there were two embarassing things from the tummy tuck. First, the picture taking - totally naked! Yikkes! She takes pictures every time I go :scared2: Second, the morning of surgery, she came in to mark my skin prior to the surgery. She had me stand naked, in front of her. Then, she knealed (sp?) on the floor in front of me. Her face was directly across from my privates. So embarassing. I'm sure she's seen lots of naked formerly obese people, so I'm positive it was only embarassing to me.

All of it, so worth it. The end results are the prize!

I'll be thinking of you. Please send us an update as soon as you feel up to it.

Take care.

Hi Sue, I have already started the panty shopping. I bought some really cute bikini style ones. I have NEVER been able to wear those before because of the rolls. The fit now, so I think I am going to have to go shopping again. Oh darn!!!

I know what you mean about the picture taking. I am not looking forward to being drawn on. My doctor is a guy. So that is even worse, but I figure if he is not embarassed why should I be. I am excited to get to this point. I never dreamed I would get this far. In the beginning I was hoping just to lose a 100lbs, even though I knew I needed to lose more. I am so glad that I can finally say that I was able to meet my own personal goal. :scared2:

Thank you Mimi, I am trying not to get too nervous. I had a rough night sleeping last night. I think I am getting excited. It is like when you know you are going on a trip and you are too excited to sleep.

Katie! I am thrilled to see you sharing your PS journey, too. My surgery is in 4 weeks - Dec 7. I'm more nervous about the before and after pictures Out There On The Web but hey, with you bandsters doing it for me, I must pay it forward

I am SO EXCITED for you!! I am thinking about you and saying little prayers for your OR team to be on the best game ever today.

Much love!!! GO GIRL!!!

Anybody heard from Potatie yet? I'm starting to worry :tongue2:!

Hope all is well with her.

Sue

Sue,

I am starting to get worried too! I hope everything went ok (which Im sure it did). My TT is next week and I know with her not getting on here to let us know if she is ok is making me nervous!

Hi Ladies:

I got an email from Potatie. She's doing well, but she has to climb stairs to get on the computer, so she's taking it easy and resting.

I just wanted to let you ladies know so that you won't worry like I did.

I'm sure she'll update when she's feeling better.

Sue
