However, my dear hubby is reading over my shoulder and does not like the idea that the dr. was standing between my legs doing the procedure.

Well that's why I didn't tell my husband! I had my surgery over a year ago and he still doesn't know!

Hey ladies. I too was commando for my surgery. I was also on my period. My tom decided to be a week late and arrive on the day of my surgery. It was very light so I know I didn't bleed everywhere, but you know what's super creepy? I woke up with a pad between my legs!

OMG!!! :thumbup::lol::(:lol:

Believe me... when you've had kids, this is a walk in the park! I was awake when I was spread eagle for the kids.

At least I'll be asleep this time! :)

OMG! I am sitting here laughing. And I needed a laugh. I'm going through the "What the hell am I about to do!" phase!

I remember that feeling. I actually felt that way all the way up to surgery. I remember being wheeled to the OR thinking "No stop, I can't do it!" But now I'm SO glad I did it.

I didn't have any "what am I about to do?" moments, but after surgery one of the first things I thought was "what did I just do?" At the time it didn't seem like the pain and the discomfort was worth it. Thank God for pain meds!

This is thread is too funny!!! I can picture the doctors saying damn the lapband, how about a breast lift, Lipo and a wax!

This made me crack up!

I remember the first time I had surgery for my gall bladder back in 1993 I woke up with a catheter and thought.. "oh my God, what did they do to me in there?" Its true though, they have seen it all!

My ex bf had a kidney stone and he went in to have a shunt put in (imagine, going up through the penis to the kidney.. ugh!), he had to get into stirrups!! I thought, anything they will do to me would be better than a man going into stirrups! haha As women (and mostly here we are women), we are used to being poked and prodded

I used to work with a nurse practioner who would put men in stirrups when they needed an anal exam!!

I like to be informed so I tend to read many posts on here. Crap, I wish I hadn't found this one! OMG. I knew the commmando issue but the other stuff!?!?

I'm all for a one-stop-shop deal: band, Lipo, lifts, tucks, whatever needs liftin' and snippin' :)...I mean, if I'm already there, the doc's there, why not? Just leave any leftover scraps in the trash please.

This is a great thread for a laugh....And a rude awakening for anyone who's never had surgery :tt2:. Commando is the easy part! It's looking your surgeon in the eye afterward that'll be tricky. Just to even the playing field, I think I'll ask mine for a quick peep show before we head to the OR. Heck, he'll be in scrubs. Easy enough to pull down and let me have a look . It would only be fair, right ? If I get any photos, I'll be sure to share them, ladies.

Good luck everyone! And thank you, God for good drugs!!

TPG

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
