As I understand it, we have United Health Care, but when our HR guy called to inquire about coverage, he was told that our policy excluded this procedure. Does this mean that I am screwed? I am certainly a good candidate for the surgery, but I don't want to pay for it myself. Anyone have a similar situation? Thanks.

Yes, the same thing happened to me. I'm so so sorry, but yes, you ARE screwed. There's nobody to fight since the insurance co. does cover the procedure. My husband's company chose it as an exclusion...doesn't seem right, I know. I ended up being a self pay. It's going to be well worth it though, you can't put a price on your life.
