I eat a regular diet now, banded 8/05/09. I do try to chew well, and eat meat first, then veg, then bread. the one thing that I don't do well is not eating and drinking at the same time. it's so hard. I guess they don't advise it because it will wash the food through and you won't feel full. I am just guessing. I have lost 12or 13lbs also post op. I can eat what ever Iwant but now I just eat like anyone else and I might have a quarter or half small plate. Which is good, because I used to eat enough for three any one elses. But I'm not loosing. I get filled 9/19/09.

I am curious about exercize and how to start. I tend to over do things and then burn out fast. I have knee issues but I think I might like to try something other than walking short distances or 10 min on the ex bike. Next week I should be ok to start for real. I was told to wait a full month and ease in to it.

I was banded August 15th, still on mushies, I have been doing ok, I have minimal restriction where I feel full faster, but I am able to eat close to two cups of food at a time but I am having a hard time eating all of my meals, and keeping up with my busy schedule, school started and I am now back to work and it is a little hard. I have eaten chicken breast, and a couple of fries, but mostly mashed potatoes, and soft foods. but still way under the 1200 calories I should be eating a day.

I've been on the regular diet for a little while and am having no problems. Been eating pretty much anything. I've noticed I can eat a lot more than I'm probably supposed to, but I haven't been gaining any weight.

I have a Protein Shake for Breakfast, a normal sized lunch and dinner, and then an after dinner snack.< /p>

I get my first fill on Friday, so maybe then I will notice a little restriction and won't be eating full meals.

Just wanted to follow up and say I had my first fill today. It went great! No pain, and the dr. let me watch the fill process on x-ray. The needle didn't hurt thanks to the cold spray they used, but it felt strange once it was stuck in the port.

I am feeling really excited/confident right now and ready to start making some real progress and feeling some tightness from the band.

How is everyone else doing? Anyone struggling with the diet? I'm curious if anyone is a vegetarian and if so, can you recommend some high Protein meals?

Thanks and good luck everyone!! Keep us posted on your progress!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
