I am! Tomorrow is a big day for us. I was nervous a week ago, but as the day gets closer I find I am just soooo ready to start this new phase. The pre op diet hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be.

Good luck tomorrow and I'll see you on the other side of the band!

I'm tomorrow -- I'm starting to get a little anxious. I charged the surgery to my credit card and I got the bill yesterday and started having second thoughts :tt2:

I better make this work so I can justify the $18k that I can't afford :tongue2:

How did the surgery go for you? I'm uncomfortable, but not in as much pain as I thought I would be in. My biggest issue is that I am afraid to eat anything. Fortunately, I'm not very hungry either.

Hope you are doing well.

Hi everyone! I was banded on 08/06/09 and released from the hospital the next day. I am not very hungry and everything seems to go right through me. I have been drinking egg flower Soup (strained), I also had a yogurt. My pain is very tolerable but I am finding that I need help getting up from the recliner which is where I can sleep comfortably. I usually sleep on my tummy so this is a challenge. I am not sure if I really need the help or if I am scared to hurt. I will be braver tomorrow.

Everything went good here! The worst part for the first day was the sore throat from the breathing tube. Day 2 was definitely the worst for me and it wasn't really that bad, I was just sore. Day 3 was a huge improvement from day 2 and day 4 has been just a slight improvement from yesterday.

I'm going camping tomorrow for a couple days so I hope that day 5 is a big improvement from today. I went to the store today and had a tough time getting in and out of the car since I am still very sore. I'm sure if I got a little more brave and started moving around more I would start getting better a little faster. As a whole the surgery wasn't a big deal at all...

I had my surgery on 8/7/09. It was done outpatient, and I was home within a few hours. I was in quite a bit of pain on Friday--more than I expected. Saturday was better and today is so much better. I can only drink Clear Liquids for 2 weeks. Surprisingly, I am not hungry. I can't imagine going camping.

I was banded on 8/4... so very close, in Cincinnati. I was very sore, but am starting to feel much better. Been out of the house and even went shopping for a bit today! I am going back to work tomorrow, so am nervous about that!

Congrats to everyone who had their surgery and let's keep supporting each other through this process!!

I was just wondering how everyone else is feeling. I am feeling really great!:w00t: I still have soreness when I sit up from laying down but otherwise all I feel is a tightness or pressure. I have begun doing basic housework and even went shopping. I just took my kids so I wasn't tempted to carry heavy bags. I have had zero vomiting and I am really excited by that!! I have my follow up visit on Friday with my doctor and I weigh in this Wed at the support center. I know by my scale that I have lost but I like their scale because it breaks down BMI and fat vs muscle weight. The hardest thing for me has been to drink enough Water. I feel full after a few sips, yesterday I almost made 48 oz. I am trying for more today! How do I get one of those weight loss tickers to show up in my post?

I feel absolutely incredible -- I went camping 4 days after surgery and was a little worried on how that would work out, but didn't have a problem at all. I really felt that camping was a true test of how I was feeling because it's a lot of work.

I haven't had any problems at all. I highly suggest having your surgery on a Thursday then going back to work on Monday. The only thing that has happened is that I have been feeling so good that I completely forgot about this whole "watch how much you eat thing". Before camping, I measured out every meal and made sure I didn't exceed 1 cup of anything. Well, while I was camping I had some pureed chicken noodle Soup and completely forgot about there being a max limit to my tummy and I must have drank 20 ounces of the Soup. Owie -- I was extremely uncomfortable and needless to say full for about 36 hours! Word to the wise, don't put your Soups in a coffee mug; you have no concept how much is in there and you eat/drink it like Water, not food!

I had my first follow up visit with my doctor today and I got the clearance to swim, do any kind of cardio, lift up to 25 pounds, and my most exciting allowance is that I can eat solids! I am so excited since it has only been 8 days! I just have to chew extremely good and take it slow. And I have to watch my calories, 800-1000 and get 50-70 grams of Protein. I get my first fill on Sept 15th so I will have to go back on liquids for up to two weeks depending on how I handle everything. My challenge is staying hydrated enough. I found today that if I am drinking tea it is so much easier to get my fluids.

I am so excited to be on this journey! I can't wait to see what I look like at the one year mark!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
