I am banded and home already!

So my surgery was yesterday 8/3 and it went well. I did the single incision lap band surgery and it doesn't look so bad. I hardly have any pain either. I am so happy to start this new journey! I wasn't nervous at all...even once I was in the operating room. I was excited. The Dr.s did a great job. I had broth and jello so far...yummy lol! I was able to walk once the affects of anethsia went away, and I got up all night to use the bathroom various time without any help. The worse part was the nausea after the anethsia...after they gave me meds for that I was pretty good. My pain from a scale from 1 to 10 was about a 3 and not constant pain, just when i moved to certain positions. I am so glad I am over with the surgery, but I have a feeling that this was the easiest part lol...

Jenny,

Good luck on Friday. Dr Fielding is also my surgeon. He did a single incision. I can't say enough wonderful things about him and his entire operating team.

Joan

Joan ,cool Dr. Ren is my surgeon. When were you banded ? How was your hospital experience ?

I was banded on Jun 8. My insurance only would cover me as an out-patient, but my incision kept bleeding, so they kept me until the next morning. Everyone was super. Most of it was a blur, and I probably wouldn't remember most of it, if I hadn't made notes. The nurses were very attentive and I felt like I was in the best of hands. When I wasn't sleeping, I watched TV. I had an IV, which assume had pain meds, so other than getting in/out of bed, I don't recall being in much pain. The literature thay gave prior to surgery stressed not waiting till being in pain to take the meds, so I took the pain med regularly for several days after I got home. When is your surgery?

My surgery is today at 12pm. I couldn't sleep at all last night.

The single incision I got is right on top of the belly button, some doctors do it inside the belly button though. It's small and about 2 inches or less long.

I've been in a little pain lately but nothing I can't deal with! I have no hunger and no desire to eat or drink anything i have the Protein shakes because I have to, and maybe a lil Jello at night before I take the pain killers.

Again Good Luck to those who arebeing banded soon!! and Thanks!!

I was banded on 8/3 as well :sneaky: I feel great, still a little sore when I get up from sitting down but other than that I can't belive I just had surgery 4 days ago lol I was really scared but I had no reason to be since everything went great

Joan,

Thanks for the info, I feel much better knowing that the hospital staff treated you well. My surgery is on monday and I'll find out tommorow at what time. I'm going through a plethora of emotions, excited, nervous, anxious, terrified...all at the same time, so talk about emotional !!! The hubby is LOVIN it...ha ha !!!

Hey Adela,

for the ticker, just go to the ticker factory and create one and then add it to your signature. In your profile clikc on edit profile and on the left should be an option for edit signature. Paste the code into the box and hit save...it should be there. Same thing for the sparklee thing, just creat one at sparklee.com
