Banded in 3 days!!! Yikes!!!

I am getting banded in 3 days.... on July 29th. I have been so nervous, it's unbelievable. I keep thinking, "Am I doing the right thing?" "What if something goes wrong during surgery?" and so on and so on....

Did anyone else have this and if so, how did you work though it...? I haven't slept in two days and I keep crying. I worked very hard through this process and I have NO intentions of backing out, but I don't want to be a nervous wreck......HELP:crying:

You'll be fine, it's a normal thing to be nervous. I was just banded Wednesday and I will be honest with you, I feel great. The best thing that I can suggest to you right now is stay busy it will help take your mind off of it.

Good luck, you'll do just fine!

Are you scared of something specific, or just generally petrified? Being generally worried isn't uncommon, especially for people who don't know anyone who's had bariatric surgery, never had surgery, etc. If you have specific worries we can maybe help answer, or you can call your surgeon on Monday and tell him you're panicked.

Normal worry is one thing. A deep fear is something else.

I am also getting banded on July 29th. I am more excited than anything. I have been keeping myself busy many to make the time go by faster. Hang in there we are almost there! Think of your health and the improved quality of life. And like others have said, talk to your doctor about your worries.

Thanks for your kind words. I have been on site, reading and keeping busy. I actually went out back for a swim and felt better. I suffer from anxiety as it is so I think it's just creeping up on me, plus PMS  I do appreciate all your kind words.

I have to say I feel good today. I had 3 shakes, lots of water and a tiny bit of tomato soup. I feel full and satisfied.

I am going to listen to the relaxation CD the holistic nurse gave me..

Thanks again,

Nina

I don't even have a surgery date and I'm nervous too. I hope the relaxation tape helps you. My fingers are crossed that your surgery goes well and that you have little pain.

Good luck!
