Another dr visit today. Dietician visit not so well

Can anyone tell me why some of the people at the clinic u see try to talk u into gastric surgery instead. I saw a physicologist and dietician today and they both mentioned gastric to me. I told the physicologist that I dont want anything that invasive or that risky I also stated im not trying to be skinny I want to loose weight and be healthier. I told her even if I can get off 100lbs I would feel great she agreed. When I saw the dietician I didnt care for her cuz she was really pushing it with me on gastric bi pass. I also didnt like her everyone else there is so nice she wasnt mean, but i just didnt like her comments on what I should do and trying to turn me in another direction. She even stated that the dr is going to tell me the same info that I should go with bi pass. I was thinking like ok let me get to that point then gee. Its like she tried to say i wont have sucess with the band or something i was kind of upset.

Perhaps you should ask these professionals WHY they feel you might be better served by a gastric bypass?

They may have beneficial information for you that will either put your mind at ease or help you consider other options.

Another thing to do: contact your surgeon and ask about this as well.

I realize GBS is much more 'drastic' but surgery is surgery-- and you want to make the right choice and feel that everyone on your team is very behind it from the start.

hope this helps!

Sometimes I have wondered if it just comes down to a business answer.. The clinic makes at least double the money on a Bypass compared to a Lap Band. I hope I am wrong but the dollar sometimes rules .
