Does anyone have any suggestions or things that have worked for them when they hit a plateau to break it and restart the losing cycle. I have hit a plateau and have not lost in about 2 weeks... it is VERY discouraging. Any suggestions would be welcome!!! :)

Up until this past week I hadn't lost any weight for about 6 weeks. I don't really know how you are doing with your eating, but I was eating more than I should and snacking. I have started eating right again, having a Protein Shake for Breakfast, Soup for lunch, and small portions of what ever I fix for dinner. I've already lost about 4lbs. since last week. I hope this helps.

without knowing what your food intake or exercise routine is...it's kinda hard to say. One of my bandster buddies (LESSJESS is her username) just did the 5 day pouch test and she lost 9 pounds.

I have not tried it yet.

What is a 5 day pouch test?

Basically it is like a mini pre-op diet. It's designed to jump start your weight loss again and to help you find your restriction.

You should be able to find several threads under food & nutrition, or just google 5 day pouch test. here is the website.

I tried the 5dpt and a couple of my band friends on here, we all did loose it was nice right before our fill.. but then once we ate again, it all came back. It took me 9 days to get back down to where i was after the pouch test..

My recommendation is start your food log again, and post it on here either in the "what i ate" or in a group of friends thread. I personally feel that is what has got me loosing again. Im loosing steadily again.

Good luck! Also ther is a plateu buster diet on here for bandsters.. Plateau Buster Diet Questions

the 5day pouch test is also a diet for RNY patients.. It was made my Gastric patients and is meant for them. Yeah it helps us loose weight but we absorb more then them BY FAR so it only makes since why its not a long term loss unless u kick ur a** right afterwards:D

Try changing your workout routine, increase it, try eating afew more cals for a few days and than go back to your normal. If you are walking change it up and ride a bike, if you bike try swimming. Your body is getting use to the routine you have now so change it up in some way and your body will respond by losing weight again. Good luck

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
